Just be careful not to be confused by old guides, because some items have changed a lot since the ancient days. Maybe confirm that you're not reading a guide from 2013 or whatever. ^^;

How do you guys not have trouble with items? As someone just starting out it feels like there are so many to choose from and in a RTS it makes me very frantic and panicky when I'm trying to choose the right one, which explains my terrible decisions tonight. :/
EDIT: also I apologize for not really giving any feedback. I think it was because most of the time I felt dumbstruck and couldn't really say much more than "OK" as I tried to do whatever I was told :/
At first it seems like there are a lot of choices. But most items are completely unviable on any given champion (outside of aram and troll builds at least).
It narrows down your effective choices a lot. If you are a bruiser(melee dpsy type) you are going to want one damaging item and then the rest tanky items normally. So you pick an AD or AP damaging item (based on your champion and situation) and then build tanky items based on who on their team is doing well and who you are laning against.
If you are a pure tank you just build tanky items.
If you are a Mage you mostly just build Offensive AP items(there are maybe a dozen which you are choosing from at this point etc).

Sion was interesting and of my own choice but Vi was because I hit random and I hated it. I don't really like when all the abilities have a single target or are passive. :/ I like Sivir though.
And yeah I was kind of working on masteries and item sets right when you asked to play, so I like had the page up with some recommendations but I'm too afraid to leave the actual game window (I don't really do Alt+Tab much at all even outside of LoL or gaming or anything)

My level of critical thinking for those types of champions' items is kinda like "well, maybe hydra or cleaver? idk?" XD
That sounds like me, lol. Though my trepidation more comes from the fact that I'm so used to using ranged champs that it's just really hard for me to got up to minions to last hit when I keep expecting to hit from range.
Okay, so not Soraka (although that kinda sucks cuz I like soraka even post-rework). What, then? (as a side note, what about Karma?)

Also, I can see Match History, but it only shows me ranked games. If I go directly from an endgame screen, it will show me that game, but then if I go back via URL later, it won't be available. (Yes I've checked the dropdowns at the top, still doesn't work.)

It's more useful when you're trying to, say, rush to an objective and can be reasonably sure the cd will be back up before the other team can respond. But in most cases it is better to bubble enemies.

Nami's kit is superbly powerful, featuring good poke, a good buff, good sustain, good cc and phenomenal disengage.
The passive adds another layer of outplay ability. Its quality is 100% dependent on how good the player you're speed buffing is (there's a reason she sees more competitive play than solo queue)

Your E has no cast time.
