Just be careful not to be confused by old guides, because some items have changed a lot since the ancient days. Maybe confirm that you're not reading a guide from 2013 or whatever. ^^;

You'll pick it up on your own without that, too.

In post 36572, Chevre wrote:Thanks for the help everyone! It all just feels really complex right now and I'm not sure how much of it actually soaked in. :/

How do you guys not have trouble with items? As someone just starting out it feels like there are so many to choose from and in a RTS it makes me very frantic and panicky when I'm trying to choose the right one, which explains my terrible decisions tonight. :/

EDIT: also I apologize for not really giving any feedback. I think it was because most of the time I felt dumbstruck and couldn't really say much more than "OK" as I tried to do whatever I was told :/

At first it seems like there are a lot of choices. But most items are completely unviable on any given champion (outside of aram and troll builds at least).

It narrows down your effective choices a lot. If you are a bruiser(melee dpsy type) you are going to want one damaging item and then the rest tanky items normally. So you pick an AD or AP damaging item (based on your champion and situation) and then build tanky items based on who on their team is doing well and who you are laning against.

If you are a pure tank you just build tanky items.

If you are a Mage you mostly just build Offensive AP items(there are maybe a dozen which you are choosing from at this point etc).
Taking a break from the site.

Sion was interesting and of my own choice but Vi was because I hit random and I hated it. I don't really like when all the abilities have a single target or are passive. :/ I like Sivir though.

And yeah I was kind of working on masteries and item sets right when you asked to play, so I like had the page up with some recommendations but I'm too afraid to leave the actual game window (I don't really do Alt+Tab much at all even outside of LoL or gaming or anything)

You were good with Sivir's Q! :] You also landed Syndra's stun (her E) pretty well.

Maybe I can check out who is free next time and try to recommend someone you might like.

About nami's E, don't forget about your passive. I basically cast E on whoever i want to give a slight movespeed boost to.

I always feel like Nami's passive is really underwhelming.

I really wish we hadn't of surrendered this, we were playing well considering the 4v5, especially considering ARAM.

Also lol second highest damage dealt.

I also really need to go back through my runes and masterys at some point, but i always put it off.

My level of critical thinking for those types of champions' items is kinda like "well, maybe hydra or cleaver? idk?" XD

That sounds like me, lol. Though my trepidation more comes from the fact that I'm so used to using ranged champs that it's just really hard for me to got up to minions to last hit when I keep expecting to hit from range.

Okay, so not Soraka (although that kinda sucks cuz I like soraka even post-rework). What, then? (as a side note, what about Karma?)

Also, I can see Match History, but it only shows me ranked games. If I go directly from an endgame screen, it will show me that game, but then if I go back via URL later, it won't be available. (Yes I've checked the dropdowns at the top, still doesn't work.)

Voided, it kinda depends on what your actually looking for in your mid laners.

There's tons of ranged mid laners that are very viable at the moment.

On that thought, is Viktor in his post rework state decent in the current meta of mid laners?

You can bubble your team mates to give them an MS boost.

He's okay. He'll have a much better time in toplane though.

Also, I found out that Karthus top works quite well also.

Anyone has opinions about the new Cassio mid? I find her really lacking until like 15-20 Mins in

I've seen this but it feels very.... uh... bad unless you have max CDR to waste your CC ability on that? Am I missing something?

Well, the only kind of mid laner I'm not looking for are assassins because I don't have the mechanical skill nor the hardware to play them well.

It's more useful when you're trying to, say, rush to an objective and can be reasonably sure the cd will be back up before the other team can respond. But in most cases it is better to bubble enemies.

I'm well aware of how her mechanics work. I just don't feel like 40+ms for 1.5s is as impactful as it should be.

It's useful if you/teammate are chasing, and you can't reach their champ but can hit your teammate.

Nami's kit is superbly powerful, featuring good poke, a good buff, good sustain, good cc and phenomenal disengage.

The passive adds another layer of outplay ability. Its quality is 100% dependent on how good the player you're speed buffing is (there's a reason she sees more competitive play than solo queue)

Use it to get back to lane faster, roam faster pre-mobis, etc.

I don't think bubble (even on your own feet) gets you to lane faster because of cast time. Haven't actually timed it though.

Your E has no cast time.

A.) We aren't
talking
about Lulu
B.) Why would you even max E first on Lulu
anyways
? You probably should be maxing her Q first, then E.
