yeah, but at this point not even looking for streamers. Just curious who the highest would be, particularly if it's true there are "a lot on the challenger ladder" (let's even add Master to that). Really just looking what the pool looks like for potential women pro players.

Like... we're already assuming that a woman who is playing in the LCS would be there with at least some base line of skill that would put her in the top 0.02% of LoL players.
nah, usually because I like watching them. I liked gambit for a long time, currently pretty teamless (because I would like to watch eu lcs mostly, so LMQ isn't really an option).
Anyway, I cheered for them because of how they played, not because of who they were.
Surrender, imagine and of course wear something nice.

I've been cheering for SSW since back when they were MVP White.
But anyway, yeah, I'd cheer for a non-TSM team with a female player on it. Although if we want to talk pro women, Scarlett in starcraft is a fucking genius zerg player. Some of the only fun games of SC2 I've watched, she uses like every single zerg unit (fucking patch zerg)

haha I wasn't saying that you can't root for SSW. Just that we all choose things other than pure skill to cheer for.

C9 has a girl playing hearthstone for them though
there are no more gay pros either now that Lautemortis has retired :<
There are a few gay rioters (Riot Fruitstrike, Riot Damiya [RIP]) but no more gay pros, to my knowledge.
MEyeA is still playing (support sub for C9), and I'm not sure what the status on Arthelon is (he's been teamless since January, not sure if he's looking for a new one)
Re gay Rioters: there are a decent number, but most of them aren't particularly public figures. Hell, Fruitstrike doesn't really post much on the forums anymore. To my knowledge, there aren't any on the design or balance teams.
They tried Edward, and at least he had a passable level of English speaking, but that didn't pan out (whether it was because Gambit became appealing again and/or Curse didn't work for Eddy, I don't remember). How the hell is a Korean going to even work?
Like, I'm not
averse
to the idea, just that I'm not entirely convinced that Curse'll make it work given their track record with such international transfers.

If you asked me this 2-3 years ago, I could have given you an answer :/

A lot of Challenger/master female players don't talk about their gender b/c they don't want to get harassed in game.
Once you get to that level, you're playing with the same people over and over again. People recognize your name, know what you play, etc. Being openly female at that level is asking for people to troll you. Granted, the vast majority won't, but it only takes 1 person on your team to ruin your experience, and at that level you'll see that person in game after game (especially if you queue immediately after your game).

Scarlett is a truly, truly incredible player. I don't follow SC2 anymore, but I watched a few of her recent games vs. Polt and holy shit her baneling micro is incredible.
It's also relevant to the conversation that she's MtF trans, which means that her experiences with the gaming community are probably a bit different.
