I got mislynched again! Arg...
GG all. I was paranoid about Lissa but my gut was leaning Edos...I probably should have been more upfront about it but unfortunately I was busy during the times he was here and not busy when he wasn't.-

Damn. Well played Fink. Good game.
Fink, let me see...
Edos sheeping yolo in RVS then hopping on someone else a few posts later.
Yolo completely screwing up X88's username at one point early on... I was unsure about reading into that.
STD's fruit gambit, which seemed like an odd scum play.
And a little gut, which I was reluctant to trust.-

I was really nervous when Micc sent me that scum role PM in LYLO. Like I signed up for the game thinking "Oh, no big deal, I can solve this" but then it turns out I didn't have to solve anything, just avoid suspicion. I really did find your responses to me scummy though, that wasn't an act. Like I think I'd have ended up voting for you if I were town here. But sorry for trying to manipulate you to make it look worse!-

So here's the thing, Edos actually tracked the fruit last night so I knew Dragons' had it. The reason for that whole stupid 1-v-1 was indeed that they thought a fruit vendor was a more powerful PR, which is what I'm assuming the point of it is, although@Micc is there another reason for fruit vendors? Somewhere you said something that made it sound like there was.
But yeah I don't think there was ever any profit in lying about the fruit. I did briefly debate lying just to get into a weird fight with Dragons over it, but I decided that was stupid and more likely to backfire than not.-

Yeah, I don't know why he didn't claim Tracker (since he/we were one). Could have just claimed a guilty on Dragons and ended this. But maybe he thought Dragons looked scummy enough not to bother?
I'm glad I skimmed the most recent few pages of the thread before talking about it, because I almost opened with some comment about whether we were claiming our results.-

This game was a clusterfuck of replacements. I wasn't hoping for a town win, tbh.

yeah, that role pm wasn't worded that well. >.>
Just kidding, I really don't mind at all. I should've thought about it more.

I don't think its any secret that this game didn't run smoothly at all. Some of that wasn't under my control, but a decent portion of it was. The Bins thing was unfortunate, but I am glad that the game was able to move on without too much damage. There was confusion in a couple of different places regarding the setup and rules. I'll take full responsibility for the confusion, because I admittedly rushed this setup through signups without reviewing things closely enough.
The role roll mechanic was adapted in its entirety from a theme sometimes played in the Pokemon Showdown mafia chat room. The roles I chose to place into this game were meant to give a fairly wide variety of usefulness for each alignment. At the same time I had to make sure that the roles could interact with each other, and that no combination of roles would provide game-breaking power.
In post 531, Fink wrote:@Micc is there another reason for fruit vendors? Somewhere you said something that made it sound like there was.
Fruit Vendor was a role I put in this setup primary because of its interaction with the other roles. Its one more option that watchers and vanilla cops have to consider when analyzing their results. At the same time it puts another role into the setup without adding to the swingyness like a true power role would. I wanted to balance the game so that most players would receive a power of some sort without making the game overly swingy.
I hope everyone enjoyed the game and the setup. I was originally considering on expanding the role roll mechanic to a 13 player theme game. I'm not all that convinced that this turned out to be as exciting as I had hoped it would. Id encourage everyone to comment with their thoughts one the setup and their interest in seeing something like this run again. I'm certainly not above constructive criticism, and I'm happy to answer questions!"To hide a tree, use a forest" -Ninja Boy Hideo-

I think the keyword is chatroom.
IMO chat mafia and forum mafia are totally different styles of mafia. Chat mafia is far more fast paced and generally can end on d2 or d3. forum mafia on the other hand usually takes quite a bit longer and it's meant to be slower paced IMO.
This means completely different setups for the games.-

Thats a good point. When I tried to adapt the mechanic into a forum based game I did my best to remove the swingyness. Perhaps the setup would have been more fun (not necessarily more fair) with cops, vigs, lovers and other swingy things. I'd also consider making the deadlines significantly shorter to make it more like a marathon game, which is forum mafia's closest equivalent to a chatroom."To hide a tree, use a forest" -Ninja Boy Hideo-

Thanks for the game, Micc! I enjoyed it.
Fink, I think if you had pretended to receive fruit, I would have been confident that you were scum and could have spent the entire time trying to hammer you as opposed to pussyfooting around and second guessing myself.
I echo the thoughts of wanting to play again, hopefully I do better
I would love to blame a lot of it on replacements and such but to be perfectly honest three people played my slot and not one of them did the town any favors.-
