Why the hell would you hate ARAMs?

Because they are incredibly boring and I spend most of my time wishing the game would just be over. Also, a game mode where the featured idea is that you have no control over whether your team composition is going to be incredibly awesome or terrible does not appeal to me. I understand the appeal of being forced to play champions I don't play a lot of in an environment where that is true for many people, but I don't feel like ARAM really gives me a solid idea of how to play those champions anyway.
I dunno, I play ARAMs because they're usually quick and occasionally allow me to learn the basics of a new champion in a (usually) low-pressure environment. I enjoy them as an exercise in teamfighting awareness / mechanics as well - when you're basically teamfighting or posturing for a teamfight for half an hour, you start to get much better at it.
It seems like a very specialized type of team fighting though, and honestly (keeping in mind that I haven't played that many because I don't like ARAMs) I feel like despite it being a perma 5v5 there's very little attention paid to actual team fighting so much as a feeling of a pickup game.
I understand why people like ARAM though. I'm just saying that I think it's super boring, and that's why I tend to decline people's ARAM invitations.
I'm starting to hate playing normals alone nowadays. I only get queued against golds and platinums while I'm only Silver 2 myself. And it's really demotivating playing against people that are better then me consistently.
Why would you play normals by yourself?
If you're gonna be alone, might as well use the mode designed for that!

That's because you have a 16x9 monitor and I have a 4x3. I can't do anything about that :s
