Grag and Leona don't do the same thing.

Similar, yes, but grag's ult lets him fill a very specific niche

So what is grag's role? Thanks disruption against positioning based teams? Trying to think who I'd pick him against in a team instead of Leona.

Only reason you bring Gragas to the team is for his dance.

Leona has to hard-commit to do anything. Gragas doesnt. That's a pretty huge difference that affects a lot of scenarios. Gragas generally performs much better vs Janna, for instance (Janna can't deal with poke and you can't q-troll him to completely fuck him over the way you can with Leona)

That's great advice, but I'm pretty offay with the lane. More talking about in or against what team comp, looking post laning phase, would I want to take gragas over Leona?

Gragas ult is harder to land then Leonas, and the range is also a lot shorter. I prefer Leona over gragas anyday. Leona in lane forcee the enemy to focus Leona

does anyone have a problem where it typically takes multiple attempts to log in? this has been going on for the past month or so and none of the suggested fixes from riot seem to do anything. I'll type in my password it'll load for a little then it'll give me an error message.

Yep. I've been having this problem for a couple weeks. Exactly like this.

Can someone help explain/clarify to me what it means when someone needs kills to ramp up or CS to ramp up? Or, I suppose why getting one over the other matters for different champions. Does it have anything to do with the ease of the champ to kill others?

And while I'm thinking of questions, if I'm someone trying to learn lane match-ups, what can I look for in a champion at select to tell if I'll have the advantage in lane, or what advantages I can have during lane? And if it's something that's not obvious (i.e Caitlyn's pure range over every other ADC except maybe Jinx in lane), how can I use this advantage or mitigate the disadvantage? (if that's not quite clear enough, lemme know).

I may be misunderstanding your question, but it has a lot to do with what stage in the game you're at and if you're winning or losing. If you're behind, you want to CS more than you want to try to get kills (generally speaking) - you're not going to win fights, so you're just going to feed kills instead of get them. If you're winning, you may want to try to force fights more often than you would otherwise, as you're more likely to win them.

Your second question is extremely general - someone more knowledgeable than me could write a whole essay on lane match-ups, simply because of the differences in each lane and the sheer number of champions you could pick in any of them.

Generally speaking both work, but it's more about the speed the champion needs it, Vayne is a beast even if beaten early, whereas a champion like riven isn't as beastly off just CS (i couldn't think of a better champ then riven for that example, i am sure there is one).

And while I'm thinking of questions, if I'm someone trying to learn lane match-ups, what can I look for in a champion at select to tell if I'll have the advantage in lane, or what advantages I can have during lane? I'm not gonna list like every lane matchup ever, but this site gives a decent overview of what beats what.

More specifically is hard to do without doing it in a more general sense.

P-Edit: Quadz might be more understanding of what was asked of the first question.

Other than with Rengar, there is nothing special about kills vs. cs. However, burst mages are a lot more useful if ahead, so people emphasize that they "need" kills in order to do their job. This may be the language you're thinking of.

Match-up issues are usually something you get a feel for when you play a champion a lot. For Vladimir, bad matchups are against people who can all-in him when he goes to cs (Riven and similar), who can zone him out of cs (Orianna and similar), or who can prevent an extended trade while having more burst (Ryze and similar).

There is no difference, money is money. A kill is worth 12 or 13 CS though, so if you have more kills you have more money. Only other thing I can think of is stack items. Only other caveat I can think of is snowbally assassins wanting faster money for their strong mid game.

Don't look at champselect. Information is always out of date and in many cases flat out wrong

kills can get you objectives and in lane can earn you more CS versus your lane opponent I guess.

I don't think that's what he's asking. Based on his reference to "someone needing kills," I think he's trying to understand where statements likes "Leblanc relies on kills in lane to be relevant" come from.

The champ that came to mind was Akali, but yeah.
