I rarely jungle, but when I support I've been buying ss later and later.
Bascially, I'm high-bronze low-silver, to give you perspective. I find a pink and my totem and MAYBE one more ward is plenty to keep me and the lane partner safe in lane. Then I pour that 800-odd gold into more combat stats and prove that I own this lane. Note that I usually play Leona or Blitz and like to fight often in lane, so it's probably a product of how I play.
I have been finding the "rush gold item level 2, rush sightstone, then gold item level 3" to be REALLY lackluster as a support. It basically trades out all combat effectiveness for the first 15 minutes or so. I dunno, could be wrong, certainly don't main support, certainly not a good player overall.
Rush sightstone > gold 2 (maybe switch order) > combat stats > gold 3 eventually maybe, is how I do it. (If I'm playing with a spellthief's, I don't even bother with level 2.) You want that sightstone for the mid/lategame more than almost any other item - vision control is the single most important part of keeping your dumbass bronze teammates alive.
I rarely not rush sighstone. The only exception may be when my lane gets grossly ahead and I might prefer chalice or tier2 support item, but about 90%, sightstone all the way. Its a very gold efficient item

I don't even bother with gold 2/gold 3 on anything thats not the coin, which is the only one that has an active worth upgrading.
I've been playing a ton of blitz and basically going relic -> mobi/sightstone -> FH/ Aegis into banner -> zz'portal.
Seriously, Banner + zz'portal splitting is too strong :p
vezokpiraka: If you are playing on EUNE we can duo.
chesskid3: I play on NA because i enjoy my freedom.
So you disagree with the premise that two people force feeding a carry is worse than 1 person feeding a bruiser? 40% of your team being worthless is worse than 20% being worthless.
On the support thing: I rush Sightstone because I hate buying individual wards.
mmm, pretty sure I was arguing with you, but if i'm argueing with myself, I declare myself the czar of right and move on. Bot lane feeding is twice as bad as top lane feeding.
I hate all the jokes and stupid sit in patch notes. Just give me the numbers, you clowns. These guys are the equivalent of the needy motherfucker at best buy that is always cracking jokes at his customers expense"oh we don't have that j/k j/k" and doesn't release everyone that deals with him wants him fired.
Is Katarina supposed to look like someone from romance of the 3 kingdoms or is she just supposed to look like a waitress for Chinese food?
But if other stuff had gone fine and Jax had been the same, they still would have lost.
The underlying "disagreement" you are perceiving here is that I am trying to discreetly point out that you are embarrassing yourself by being pretty rude for no reason.

Even if it's staying mostly in lane, in bot lane you want to start to establish control of the river for dragon, and obviously later game you want to keep 3 wards down as much as possible (plus a pink).
I actually think Leona and Blitz are two that can go sightstone particularly early. Both want to tank a bit, and the extra health is helpful. Vs. a ranged caster like Sona where the health is nice, sure, but your poke is from distance and extra damage/healing can be helpful. Both Blitz and Leona are about setting up plays. Damage is helpful, but isn't really the "point."
yeah sightstone is super good on Leona because you're maxing Eclipse which is a bonkers armor/MR steroid at level 9. so early HP is super strong on Leona because it combines with Eclipse and you just go in with total impunity. Not only that, but getting sight stone means selling yellow trinket for red, and the reset on Q lets Leona do really sassy plays with red trinket.
most Leona games my core is targons + sight stone + boots (usually treads). HP is the best combat stat for Leona anyway, so why not get HP that lets you see shit?

Just like it's not hard to get your purchase but you still gotta shift through the bullshit. Make a seperate little shitty league jokes post about the patch. Leave them out of the notes.
It's always overly rude. If I was to critique your play, I think you try too much. Let the game come to you a little bit. You get hooked a lot - I've watched you play for ~20 minutes over the course of 2 games and I've seen you get hooked 5 times I think. Instead of trying to make plays and getting hooked, when he goes to make his play, you should react instead of trying to constantly always try to make plays. Also pay attention to your what your carry needs. If he's low on hp and mana, if he follows you up he'll die and if he doesn't you'll die and if it all goes horribly horribly wrong, you both die.

Enemy Morg ragequit after two solokills by our Ahri in lane (my one gank mid by this point burned a flash but morg lived). We proceeded to stomp the 5v4 as expected, and enemy Jinx says "I wish riot would force disconnect a player on the opposing team whenever a player disconnected." WTF??
