I only bring this up because I don't actually see the Title Fairy as active as SK supposedly says it should be. TBM and Oman were good in my opinion because it was more a bureaucratic process than an application for acceptance that it seems to be now. Sure they gave opinions on titles but I don't actually think they rejected many titles, the community did that for them. SK is taking on a more active role when in my opinion, this isn't about SK's preferences - it is about the community's. If you want to think about it in terms of percentages I think it's 85% us and 10% SK, 5% mith.
SK's primary job is to maintain the process, so that titles fit the criteria of the first post.
It isn't SK's job to reject titles outright. If it is, the whole selection process for title fairy is messed up. SK was not elected, he didn't even have to apply to the greater administrative team for this position. TBM saw a way out and took it. If there was an application where a person's preferences matter, their overall tastes in culture, humor, and art would need to be taken into account. That did not occur.
The community chooses the titles, the community discusses the titles, it's only fair that the community should be able to administer the
titles. SK's active role thus far removed the community aspect of the entire process. The community is the only reason this thread,
position, and issue exists.
So everyone should take a step back and realize what this whole Title Fairy thing is about. It's not subjecting personal taste of titles on us, it's trying to incorporate everyone's taste into a good title.-

I thought the entire point of having a Title Fairy instead of setting your own title was for the Fairy to make decisions about what titles were appropriate after nominations. It's literally SK's job to reject titles outright if he doesn't think they're appropriate.I HATE YOU SO MUCH PLEASE GO JUMP INTO A FREEZING LAKE - Mr. Freeze

In general, no title fairy has been hands on like this. The Title Fairy is a ceremonial position. They're there to enact the will of the community while stepping in only when absolutely appropriate. Outright rejecting titles that have community support with no room for discussion is not how a TF should act imogreen shirt thursdays-

They've been plenty hands-on and you only need to look at the two most recent TFs' ISOs (or at some of the rejection posts TheButtonmen and Oman did, if ISOs are too long) to see that.-

Surprisingly there isn't a rule to stop the same title from getting nommed over and over. Maybe three strikes and you're out?I HATE YOU SO MUCH PLEASE GO JUMP INTO A FREEZING LAKE - Mr. Freeze

I always see Titles more as a expression of notoriety on the site, as someone who did something/is noteworthy on the site.
So I disagree with the assumption that we shouldn't have a vetting process for the titles.
(although I do also think, especially as someone in that position, that there are quite a few of veteran members who fill the needs, but because the one event hasn't happened, doesn't have a title)Natirasha is just a vestige, it's Contessa now.-
