And the game isn't complete shit, it's actually mostly fun, and every game lasting like 20 min is nice.

Yeah you need a key, BV offered some on this page maybe you can PM him since he's probably not checking the thread himself cause he's not playing. If he ran out, I've had a few friends buy some keys off of eBay for 65 cents that worked.

Jaina's damage is pretty stupid isn't it? I need to unlock her next few talents, but the default talents have pretty good synergy and are effective from what I can tell. I want Valla next. Her winrate just so happens to be the highest.

if youre with someone else you can get level 4 character in like 3-4 games which gives you all their talents.

the games are super short so cranking out a few games really doesnt take too long.

nova was the first hero i bought with gold.

was free first week, and was like... yep.... this hero is a little dumb in pubs.

Nova, I quickly learned, is HotS's Katarina - if she's on your team, she does 0 damage, if she's on the enemy team, she can 1v5 you in all 3 lanes at once.

Maybe it's just that I'm unfamiliar still, but I think HotS doesn't do as good a job as League at making it clear when your ability made an impact. There's not a lot of drama that lets you know that a skillshot landed and such outside of ultimate abilities.

What sort of abilities are you talking about? I haven't experienced that with the champions I've played.

I also played Dota for a bit, where abilities have absolutely zero feedback, so HotS seems like a big improvement.

So I played my first game.

It was pretty fun! Played as nova. We lost though

I also kept getting fps issues. Not sure why... my laptop is pretty old, but can run league at ~50fps, for example. So it was kinda weird.

Edit: Might it be because there are still some stuff downloading for the game, even though I can play the game because the bar passed "optimal" level?

Nova's W is a good example. The animations are pretty uninspired.

Her ult does feel fun, though. That was the first ability that felt fun to me. Though Anubarak's Rek'sai attack also looks fun.

I have the same setup/issues, and it's not a downloading thing for me. I think it's just an issue of the game being unoptimized because it's still in beta. I get about 10-ish minutes into a game, and then I get a huge FPS leak that makes the game unplayable after about 15 minutes in-game.
