I will say you have to have exceedingly standard taste to have liked the last few contests. Like, that's not a bad thing, but those of us who's genres and tastes are more eclectic than 'electro-pop' or 'soft-spoken-indie-allstar', it kinda has been really really hard to survive.
Like, there is no way to say that without sounding pretentious when I don't mean it, but I just...don't really appreciate those styles of music much, and the sheer amount of it in the last three or so SCs has been awful(I unironically gave points to Cuba).Natirasha is just a vestige, it's Contessa now.-

Yes you will. We don't have to cater toyourtastes inourentries. There are plenty of pretentious unhappy music wankers on the internet, why not go start a Song Contest with them?
Of course, you never have to do that for anyone...
In post 357, Quilford wrote:Personally, 99% of my joy from Song Contest comes from when people post their personal ratings before the votes come in and I see that people have said nice words about my song because it means we have something great in common

Stop entering these. I'm serious. At least Rickrolling it is harmless. If you're only doing it to sabotage the contest by voting songs you don't like (which is cheating, FYI), loudly bash anyone whose musical taste isn't exactly the same level of complexity as yours (neither more nor less), or go, "haha, you suckers are so dumb for being tricked into giving my awful song points!", then why are you bothering? No one will cry themself to sleep without your entries. I don't know if you're taking out RL stress here or are just a rotten person, but go be a dick on a different forum if you can't restrain yourself.

so, uh, maybe stop whining about how you don't see the point of entering anything interesting if it won't get 12s

Comment from an anonymous person who's much too nice to post it in the thread (but I'm much less nice): "This is coming from someone who's named after a Muse song."
(I don't particularly mind Muse, but still.)-

Why else would people cater to others' tastes instead of posting stuff they like?-

This just in, liking a popular band 7 years ago completely invalidates my current opinion, says anonymous coward
Also I have literally never been responsible for a joke entry but good to know you did your research

I'm still really enjoying this whole "having opinion I don't like = being a dick" thing, and I politely extend your own invitation to yourself and whoever you're speaking for-

i don't feel like a significantly better person for having heard the songs entered in this contest
aside from my turkmenistan song and the song i gave 12 points to and maybe the rkelly entry,
i sort of had to treat everything a lot more politely than i would if i were just coming across these songs arbitrarilyYou can't step in the same river twice.-
