I can't escape bronze, no matter how hard I try I'll always do very decent and the when it comes to promos riot will match me with all the feeders they can find. I'm not sure what bronze is like on other servers but on OCE it really makes you wonder how bad one can be a lol. Eh where's the magic button at? Might just start spamming veigar or something. Has anyone gotten out of bronze solo queuing with a certain champ? I've tried riven but alas, someone will always be more fed. Anivia is also pretty strong I find but I don't know how far spamming her will get me.
Also, who is a better buy Kat or Akali? Kat seems to always get banned and while stomping norms is fun she almost always gets banned
I've gotten out of bronze solo queue on NA(which is a higher skill level server) on several accounts. I basically select my champ at random and win basically every game. If you aren't bronze skill, you'll get out. It's that simple. Play your best champs.
I used almost exclusively Graves and Leona to get out. Not sure it matters. Focusing too much on solo-style carry champions if you're not naturally a carry-type player is probably a mistake.
I've been climbing my way up with Nautilus. Still. I think I need a new tank jungle though. I'm still surprised no one's really running him in silver elo though.

If you fail just your promos disproportionately, you'll eventually jump 2 divisions, so I wouldn't worry. Just treat every game as its own thing.
I'd get Diana before Akali. She can fit into most teams pretty well (she can assassinate, but also kinda poke or tank if necessary, you can play her jungle if there's champ select drama, she's never banned), and she's stronger at levels 1-5 than Katarina or Akali. She also completely dominates Katarina in lane, which I imagine is nice to have on-hand if Kat is ubiquitous. Kat would be OK if you can play around the enemy cc.
In general I think I started out trying to pick champions for the lane match-up, then graduated to picking champs I knew that fit well with my allies, and then graduated to picking champs that I knew worked well against enemies that weren't my lane opponent.

This is good advice if you're actually a gold+ player in bronze, but it may not work for someone who's playing near his real elo.
I mean. The pick might be as simple as "has hard cc" so that you can single-handedly stop Katarina from carrying every team fight.
