If you eliminate all the game show cheese (c'mon, an opera guy? Really?) Running Man has potential to be gritty and awesome.

I loved (the original) Red Dawn! The remake was a disaster though. I agree with your sentiment nonetheless. A darker, grittier Running Man would be a-okay in my book. More styled like Blade Runner or something.

Just for the record, I do not hate all remakes. The Ladykillers, The Departed, Invasion of the Body Snatchers... loved all of these. I'm sure there are plenty more.
