As much as I like the people who joined in the same year I did, I have to agree that there are quite a lot of other years that those newbies were just as amazing as I remember ours being. And there's a lot of people that I see as being awesome amazing people that I later realize joined a lot later than I did. So those years got a lot higher votes from me for that reason. But that 07-10 block is pretty star-filled not gonna lie.

Honestly, pre-2007 blurred to me ratings-wise when I cast my vote.

All I know is that I put 2013 and newer as low, and 2009 and older as high.

So I hold reverse-bias.

The number of '05ers who were never known by the recent generation makes me sad. Playing games with Yos2, Kelly Chen, Stoof, Ibby, Adele, etc... Too many to even name here.

Also the general lack of '05ers in this thread makes me feel like I should be more active.

Meh, my experience with players from earlier join dates isn't significantly better than those from more recent times. Obviously, older players have had more of an influence, but that's not really what the poll is about, right?

I believe I put 05 second, and it would have been first were there not a year that has brought me personally more joy than all the others combined :P

Ya my bad guys, I thought this thread was for talking about community members we love. I didn't realize we were going through with an actual vote and arbitrary ranking of years. I though that part was irony.

One is a popularity contest and the other is something more akin to the scummies.

Which will probably just make the results even more convoluted as people have been apparently voting on different criteria such as:

Players who are most important
Players you think are best
Players you like to play with
Years who have most active players

Chevre's presence on the site is basically popularity polls at this point. <_<

Well... yeah. I doubt this poll is supposed to be an accurate indication of anything except for who people decided to vote for.

I mean, you guys act as though any of our various polls (Song Contest, mith's "Favorite" tournaments, the favorite TV Show and Videogame polls that were held in GD a while back) aren't skewed because people interpret the word "favorite" differently, as in, either the objective best or the most likable.

Also Glork how dare you. I have now expanded to a game of Boggle in MishMash. >;)

Oh yeah, and if I cared that alts were included, I would've had to choose between '07 skitzer and '10 Chevre.

I would actually like to see how what probably is a bell curve of favorite year looks for each join year. If they really just match up dead center on the year, or how they start becoming more/less pronounced in the older or newer years. The mix of multiple criteria that can be used just will wreck that though, or at least make it bad data. I like being able to graph things though, im odd like that.
