I don't know. After reding that dead thread I'm kind of inclined to just replace out of things. Glork is taking unfair heat, and so am I for the Tammy deal.

I'm fine with making our topic public, I think it'd be cool to see our strategizing and see just how much we thought ahead and planned.

The deadline extension made Glork really upset, and I understand that totally. The replacements felt like they hurt us a bit, but the inactivity overall hurt town a lot.

I knew I would be the weak link in the team so really it coming down to me the last day was all part of the plan... trying to make it me/ducks was what Frogger's whole intention was.

Long story short, I felt as if the integrity of the game was compromised by the mod changing his "no extensions, no exceptions" rule and granting a deadline extension because a couple of people asked for one. It undermined our strategy and put us at a competitive disadvantage that, by the mod's own rule set, should never have been possible.

I said in my replacement post that my replacing out was due to an external situation beyond my control, but I probably should have made it more clear/prominent and for that I apologize. I was in fact losing sleep over the game, and could not continue enjoying playing it. I take no credit for this win and don't consider it a completed/won game by any means. I just needed to post about the expectations/meta stuff (I'm seriously tired of being suspected for not being right about everything on D1), and get some closure so I could sleep for a few hours before having to work the next day.

It's fine, you left behind your legacy... I helped to construct it up into a perfect scum win ^_^

Frogger is happy, and that's what counts, okay? I don't think you guys would be able to play on a scumteam again (although playing as a hydra would be a great idea!), and that sucks, but I hope I've done my best to secure the best eventual outcome for something as sour as that.

And for the record, the only other time I replaced out of a game was when a mod allowed several players to form a voting bloc in the signup thread before roles were distributed. I take games as an important commitment to the mod and other players and do not replace out lightly. Strategic replacements are against site policy.

The meta defense was something I had been preparing ahead of time and I posted it because I didn't want to be unfair to my eventual replacement. Everything about not tryharding and just wanting to play for fun is completely true (I even said that during pregame in the scum PT), and is exactly how I feel in all of my games regardless of alignment. Mafia isn't super serious business. It is meant to be fun and a way to make friends, not enemies, and I wish people wouldn't get so riled up over it.

I haven't watched the game closely after I died, but I don't think anyone got riled up because of this game or suspected you because you weren't right about everything. There were just quite a few little things off about you.

Everyone except for TTH chickened out on you after your replacement speech, though.

Cool, yeah slept on it. Making scum PT public is fine by me. KayP is righ, we put TONS of effort into our strategy and it would be a waste to not let everyone see it.

I can't believe nobody would have chosen me over Ducky. Pretty happy for that in my first ever scum game.

I didn't really follow either but apparently people thought my replacing out was "sketchy" and got upset at Frogger, too, so I was just trying to clear the air.

Honestly my main disappointment was that we never got to execute our strategy. Relying on the early inactivity, we were basically using me to create a lot of smoke and mirrors and then get me lynched around Day 3, with Frogger and KayP being able to utilize associative tells to clear their own names after I flipped scum. I've never played a game where I strategically tried to get myself lynched and I was excited to see how it would play out. I was pleased with being just sloppy enough to garner attention while not quite getting lynched, but then everything got blown out of the water with the extension deadline and its impact on our ability/willingness to continue.

We were especially annoyed because no deadline extensions was even quoted in thread by the mod, and was extended because 100% of the players replacing out up to the time of extension were all town. Not scums fault town couldn't get their shot together, yet we were the ones being punished for it.

It double screws scum over because all the replacing in players are fresh new eyes on the game...and now they have extra time to do so as well, when the rule set clearly stated no extensions and was even quoted in game by the mod.
