So here's the deck I've put together:

Execute x2
Whilwind x2
Fiery War Axe x2
Battle Rage x2
Commanding Shout
Slam x2
Armorsmith
Cruel Taskmaster x2
Unstable Ghoul x2
Acolyte of Pain x2
Frothing Berserker x2
Warsong Commander x2
Death's Bite x2
Dread Corsair x2
Gnomish Inventor
Grim Patron x2
Emperor Thaurissan

I seem to be having some trouble with it, though; I'm not great at the Frothing Berserker math yet.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.

Yeah. I found the deck in advance of finding the guide, so I've apparently not been using Grim Patrons proactively enough.

Fwiw, I would drop one battle rage for either a second Armorsmith or Loot Hoarder/Shield Block.

I'm also not a fan of Dread Corsair, as it does nothing to help your combo. I run 2x Shield Block instead because it gets me through the deck faster and Corsair is generally only worth about 5-6 health anyway.

Also yeah, you don't have to use Patrons only when you have lethal with them. Turn 4 Death's Bite / swing, turn 5 Patron & swing for whirlwind effect is one of Patron combo's favorite plays. It's instant value and unless your opponent can remove both Patrons right away there's a good chance you'll get even more value out of them.

I think Battle Rage is necessary, just because you need to draw cards. Especially against Freeze Mage, where getting 3+ cards out of Battle Rage can determine whether you win or lose. I'd be more likely to cut Gnomish Inventor if I wanted a slot.

Dread Corsair is nice, not just because it's a Taunt, but because it's free with Death's Bite- each Dread Corsair is a Frothing Berserker pump + 3 damage if played during the combo, and can hold the fort for a turn when i don't have the combo.

But yeah, I really need to be doing stuff like Grim Patron+Whirlwind in advance of the combo; combined with Cruel Taskmaster/Slam, I'm giving up a lot of value by not doing that. I'm also finding that Frothing Berserker gets me more actual kills than Grim Patron does, which kinda makes me want to try and get a Grommash maybe? I have no idea what a good way to get dust is besides buy a bunch of cards and disenchanting, though.

Did a little bit of ladder yesterday while rotating between 3 different decks after every match. Its the end of the season and I haven't played much, so the competition was still a bit weak for me there (15 -> 10), but thoughts:

I ran Face Hunter, Tempo Paladin, and Handlock*.

I think pally had my strongest winrate but it was all pretty close.

There was a lot of tempo
mage
on the ladder. Super generic stuff, I can't even really think of a label to give it. Lots of mirror entity, Mana Wyrm, FrostBolt, Apprentice, Flamewaker, Water Ele's, and Flamestrikes going around. My decks all did pretty reasonably against this matchup.

Priest
. I hate priest and always will; I don't get how they are considered underpowered for climbing ladder. Against my Handlock, they out-speed me with blademaster or Cleric with buffs out the wazoo. Maybe I really need to have one Owl in my decks for this crap which somehow I didn't include in my Pally/Hand deck at all. Then if I make it to late game they steal my Ysera with Shrinkmeister or Mindcontrol. I had one guy steal Ysera when I had a Sylvanas on the board though (all the whats) so I promptly stole Ysera back on my next turn.

Face Hunter is really just a tossup against priest. Either they get a godlike start with Northshire, Pyros, and AoE or they just die. I think its a matchup that loosely favors priest.

I have issues with paladin where most of my cards are great targets for Cabal and all that as is. Not enough burst to take them out effectively.

Face Hunter
: Handlock ends up being a pretty reasonable matchup although its highly dependent on drawing antikill bots and sludge belchers when you need them. I'm running BlackwingTechs which can help curb early aggression and Moltens-> Sunfury is strong as always into this. Plenty of outs against aggro with my deck.

Face vs Face is pretty much exactly what you'd expect.

Pally into face...I don't think I actually had this matchup happen.

----
Surprising lack of Druids on the ladder.
Lack of shaman not surprising.
Some scattered warlocks were around.
Not very much warrior either, but likely because all those players are at higher than rank 10 :S

Here's the Druid deck I've put together:

Innervate x2
Zombie Chow x2
Wild Growth x2
Wrath x2
Savage Roar x2
Blackwing Technician x2
Swipe x2
Hungry Dragon x2
Keeper of the Grove x2
Nourish x2
Blackwing Corruptor x2
Harrison Jones
Sludge Belcher x2
Force of Nature
Emperor Thaurissan
Ironbark Protector x2
Ysera

So the point is to try and ramp up, use dragon synergy like Technician and Corruptor to stay alive until either I can drop something large quickly or Force of Nature + Savage Roar for a kill. Card I wish I had include Druid of the Claw, Ancient of Lore, Ancient of War. I think this is the first real deck I didn't netdeck, so any suggestions are gladly accepted.

Honestly I might cut the Technician for a Shredder or something. Even with the buff activated, Technician's just kind of underwhelming in most matchups.

If I had a Shredder, sure. I mostly have Technician because I needed a 3 drop, and it was basically between Technician and Shade of Naxxramus. I could see it going the other way, but I'm hard pressed to think of a better card to play in that slot.

this is pretty half baked - there is little synnergy between the dragons. I think you either want to play a full control/midrange dragon druid with the rest of brm instead of this weird hybrid with the two ironbarks

Is Shaman really that bad? Isn't Mech Shaman and Midrange Shaman both solid?

Shaman is unpopular right now. Mech Shaman is pretty playable, I'm not sure the status of midrange shaman, but it continues to be unpopular.

Shaman is really bad right now. Its core mechanic of overload is horrible. Blizz severely overestimates the advantage of playing minions a turn early. More often than not, playing a card with overload costs you to lose this turn and half of your next turn.

And that to the RNG of the hero power and half the class cards. Number range is probably the worst form of RNG and it makes Shaman far too inconsistent.

There's a new expansion coming soon (full announcement July 22 IIRC), not sure what will happen to arena packs then, but people are thinking it might be a mix among GvG, Classic, and new set.

That's baseless speculation/wishing from player base though.

Right now:
Arena gives GvG packs only. Random cards earned as Arena awards can be of either Classic or GvG sets.
Tavern Brawls give one classic pack for your first wi

Classic packs give classic cards. GvG pack give GvG cards. Either pack can be bought for 100 gold or real money.

It's unclear what the July 22 announcement will be, but while it seems somewhat likely to be a new expansion / adventure, anything beyond that is just rumors or people posting what they hope/wish will happen.

When I was googling around to see if gvg only gave gvg, I found I lot of threads crying about wanting arena to have a pick a pack function, but they've been wanting that for like 7 months so I doubt it's coming. Makes being a new player not easy because constructed without cards is no fun and arena which is super fun only gives shitty cards.
