I'd say in group A anyone has a shot to get out of groups. B is closer between 3 because I don't see C9 making any impact with how poorly they played in the gauntlet. C and D should be decided by default
C has those decided by default, but D still has a chance for an upset of the Chinese or Korean team falter enough. Well, so long as the NA and EU teams don't go 1-1 against each other and at least get 2 extra wins, which is unlikely but NOT impossible.

We might just get a midlane star with something to prove in an otherwise servticeable team, in that group! If there was any draw that could make H2K rise above their usual level, a group with SKT was it. They don't even have to win, but I can't wait to see the games from that group. If SKT does ignite them, the games with EDG may be very nice too, and obviously skt-edg should be fireworks. With so much time leading up to worlds, I don't believe EDG won't show up.

Group A will be super fun to watch. Might not be the most skilled one, but definitely the least predictable one. It'll be cool to see how much the Brazilian region has improved, especially since they're not being put straight up against SKT LGD EDG.

Given that lately in c9 roster swaps have happened and how poorly as a team they did in the previous splits, you bet balls's subpar performance last couple of splits has been a topic inside the team. This isn't something of the last couple of weeks. And with C9 looking for solutions since worlds last year, we cannot have been the only ones noticing that balls has really fallen off.
I think the backlash has less to do with the criticism, and more with who brought it and in what manner.

I mean, the only thing I'd say that maybe Jatt could have got wrong is to consider why they're all in Korea in the first place - it's not to become solo queue Gods, it's to prepare for Worlds, which may mean Balls is experimenting with new item builds and skill orders, testing the limits of his play and working to expand his champion pool. All good objectives for World Championship prep, not so much for getting to the top of solo queue.
Other than that, Jatt presented information that is factually accurate and analyzed it fairly. You can't ask for more than that.

I'm a big fan of C9 and all but this recent bullshit is making me dislike the team.
You don't say anything, you let it go. Getting butthurt over it just makes you look defensive. But then Jatt fucked up by apologizing and caving to the pressure and making it seem like he did anything wrong. He did nothing wrong, he's a fucking analyst, he's supposed to look at data and draw conclusions. Guess what? It IS worrying that Balls is D2 and has dropped from D1 back to D2 several times. Instead of ripping into Jatt for his analysis, Sneaky should've given an explanation or reason for it. Attacking Jatt (and the ensuring pro gangbang that ensued on Twitter [specifically Saint, shut the fuck up Saint]) makes him look like a child.
Monte is just about the only person in this whole situation (Jatt included) that is making any sense right now.

Okay yes, but that's also assuming that no other pro player is doing that as well? Like, whatever the case is with Balls, there are dozens of pro players doing the same thing that haven't sucked as badly as he has

Group 2 is bae. (Been and Fnatic fan since season 1, been and Invictus fan since season 2), Second spot is winnable by all the teams. Group of life.
Group 3 is SKT and others. Edward gonna choke again bc they can't travel. They're the Spain of LoL. Look to see H2K to make it out on sheer dumb luck.
Group 4 is just fucked. Like seriously. Upsets likely. Lets put the two most experienced teams that had iffy years with teams from the top two regions and see what happens. If you are a betting man, put a fiver on Origen to make it out. Because the payoff is gonna be huge and could EASILY happen. TSM will get only one match win, and it won't be against Origen. Someone will go undefeated and it won't be Origen. Group of Death.

Neither side was in the wrong here. Jatt presented some facts and the pro community as a whole felt it wasn't tangential to Jatt's point and called him out on it. Whoop de doo. That happens all the bloody time irl.
