Basically, hyperbolic geometry is stuff with ruffles on it. Like anemone, coral, lettuce, or a skirt. For hundreds of years, mathematicians theorised about hyperbolic geometry but were pretty sure it didn’t exist in real life. and then women started getting mathematics degrees.

I think I want to talk about textiles next because there’s a lot of interesting mathematical work done with textiles, especially with regards to hyperbolic plane. I have a hyperbolic möbius strip that I made a while back.
