The first post she made pinged me because I felt like she should have just read up rather than proclaiming her presence and reading up. I expect town Mara to be so fucking bubbly it's obnoxious. She hasn't been. She should have seen you-town. She didn't (this itself is like a nuke from orbit signal). Her ISO is just flat out lame as fuck.

In post 520, pieguyn wrote:Mala might be scum again. can someone who has more experience with her tell me if she tends to make content-light catchup posts like as town?

My problem is that Mala feels disengaged and distant. I've never played a game with her and it's been ages since I read a game she's been in, though.

P-edit: I read Mala as scum in TM based on what I just said here, actually.

TBH, if I knew this was going to be a blitz game i'd probably would have /outed even though I care for Cabd and Penguin deeply. (in retrospect this was my fault for prob misreading the PM) Right now, which will be starting Sunday I'm basically going to be pulling 50 hour work weeks until Christmas Eve since my coworker has decided to go to FL for a week, which forces me to cover her shifts plus my own.

Not to mention my last three experiences with Blitz games hasn't gone exactly well. First one I scum read all of the town and townread all of the scum. Second one I tried to move a scum-lynch onto a town-lynch; then got lynched afterwards for causing a big fuss. My last game I loathed every, single second of that game and would never want to ever have a repeat of that game, which made me fucking miserable.

So apologizes for being disengaged when I'm not really fond of Blitz games especially after my last one. :\
No matter how high the stakes, sooner or later you're just gonna have to go with your gut.
And maybe, just maybe, that'll take you right where you were supposed to be.

was gonna mention this but I'll put it here; I thought about it overnight and I feel pretty good about the way Empire handled the read on me, not due to the reaction test but his reach out to me after he started town reading me. I like it bc I can see it coming from the POV of Empire-town who thought something along the lines of "I've hardly played with pieguyn, it would be good if we could work together this game", and decided that the best way to do this would be to immediately try and sort me with a quick push, and it seems like an obscure enough thing I really doubt he'd have thought to fake it. the exception is if he was trying to go out of his way to play to me, but I don't really think I'd be a priority target for scum-Empire to manipulate as opposed to someone like Nacho or Tammy.

and he would be particularly inspired to select you for this honor because...?

p-edit: hold on a sec and I can pull her posts I'm talking about from that game.

I don't remember that! >_> I'm asking you about Ceph because I got to you-town fairly painlessly this time around (I know, it surprised me too). I think Ceph might be town and I see a number of positives in his ISO and I know we've talked about reading him in the past, so let me know what you think of the following:

1) He is not committing the "oily politician" tell.
2) He seems overall pretty unapologetic about his play and his frustration with people being deliberately obtuse seems town.
3) He doesn't seem to be keeping track of this game all that closely and that doesn't seem faked. From what I remember, he prefers scum and I think he'd be a lot more on top of shit as that alignment.
4) He had that one post earlier where he was like "how do I deal with x type of player," came across very much in a "speaking-from-the-heart" type of way.

Not gonna lie, I haven't been following things as closely as you have so I haven't picked up on those nuances. Though he did in some game earlier this year? try to pull a I'm a lurker cause I'm town and I care more as scum type thing. My concern with Ceph is he knows very well what town Ceph looks like and can emulate that and change once one thing is picked up on.

I was feeling decent about you being town early on too and it was kinda scary when you self-metad why I thought you were town. Then I went what if he's behaving how he knows I'll town read him and when looking for allies he didn't mention that I would know what he was doing because he thought that I would get paranoid at that and so yeah I'll just watch how this conversation plays out and see how I feel. :P
