8 health taunt is great, especially since against agro, they're likely to wind up with something like Leper Gnome if they kill it, which probably isn't of huge consequence. Against control, they might get something bigger, but most control priests run 2 SW:D anyway.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.

I guess against more aggressive aggro it's pretty good. It does fuckall vs mech-shell shaman in my experience.

sort of.
There are "hybrid" variants of face hunter. The 'hybrid' variant is what got me to legend the last two times I pushed for it.

Im not sure what is in a typical hybrid list, but I run 1 highmane in it. I was also running Snake trap and flare. I think I had 0 Wolfriders and 1 Arcane Golem in that, so thats probably what I cut for it.

Okay, I'm back with a (hopefully) better decklist. (I'm not a very good deckbuilder)
This time it's Reno Hunter.
It's been doing really well. Like, 70-90% winrate well. I've only played like 10 games, though, so more extensive testing is needed.
IDK if Jeweled Scarab/Tomb Spider/Knife Juggler have a place in this deck.
I like juggler even though it has little to no synergy because it's a 2 drop I can play on curve that draws out removal
Thoughts?

Hunter's Mark
Webspinner
Bear Trap
Explosive Trap
Flare
Freezing Trap
Quick Shot
Haunted Creeper
Ironbeak Owl
Jeweled Scarab
Knife Juggler
Mad Scientist x2
Eaglehorn Bow
Animal Companion
Deadly Shot
Kill Command
Powershot
Unleash the Hounds
BGH
Houndmaster
Piloted Shredder
Tomb Spider
Explosive Shot
Loatheb
Belcher
Reno
Highmane
Sylvanas
Dr. Boom

you're right. i thought it worked well with velen's but it seems like in most of my games it's more of a hindrance.

How has flare been for you? I feel like I'm seeing way less of both hunter and secret paladin than I used to, as well as freeze mage never being a huge percentage of the field. How frequently is that card just 2 mana: draw a card?

I'm also lukewarm on explosive trap in this build. Since you're not overly aggressive, the effect isn't that great for you.

Hunter is generally pretty weak right now, but secret pally is still pretty common. It's a pretty clearly T1 deck (part of why I love mech-shell shaman is that it has a good matchup there)

Shaman, druid (midrange) and reno decks(warlock being the most common) almost exclusively. I would say those archetypes make up roughly 50% of the meta I'm seeing. The rest is in order of frequency: midrange(reno) pali, Rogue, mech/tempo mage, hunter and secret pali.

Guess Im going to try this in ranked blind and see whats up; definitely a bit different from my previous list.

I've found Flare to be useful, but it really is a call based on what you are seeing played.

Paladin, Hunter, Mage, and a little bit druid (it reveals shade of Naxx) make it worth it. I havent seen that many of any of these around so I didnt put it in the list here.

This is my current Mid-rangey Beast Hunter list:

Spoiler:
Image

I love the Beast theme and have been thinking of making a Mid-range styled deck of them work to some success. This deck originally had a lot more beasts (I liked the new Huge Toad, a webspinner, and a stranglethorn tiger just as a few examples) but I cut a bunch in favour or making the deck a bit more competitive and better in general. I'm personally not sold Sir Finley, the idea is that I might value a value power like Warrior or Priest or a ping ability (Mage/Druid/Rogue) more than the face since this is a deck more focused on board control than going face, but I think I might want an Owl instead. I also like Freezing and Bear Trap more than Explosives, I might drop a bear trap for explosive for the aggro matchup though. Kodo is really good in my experience.
I swear I'm trying my best
