Why "most likely the latter" ?
Because two scum wouldn't do that?

What's the point of playing if people can just meta read so hard? Like either Aero/Fro99er are both scum or they are both town (most likely the later) but the fact that the can just "townread" each other like that defeats the purpose for me. I can't get back into the meta of this game because I don't know enough of peoples meta.
What about the possibility that one is scum but knows his meta well enough to fake it, well enough to fool the other?
What about that would never work? Like who reasonably does that? Sure you can bus a partner but who has the gall to try and meta clear someone day 1?
That's not what I'm saying. A is scum but knows his meta well enough to fool town B into thinking he's town.
So I'm saying that Aero and Fro99er aren't necessarily the same alignment from that interaction, like you seemed to think.
Based off the interaction, is that what you think happened? I see two people who seemed to have convinced each other at the same time they were town. If meta were so easily broken, people wouldn't be trying to use it non-stop to convince others. Lets face it, Meta is the easiest way to get a solid read on someone if you honestly know their playstyle.

But don't most people do that, react to pressure with "that's how I always play", especially when they're town?
No? I would hope to think most players try to argue against whatever case was against them instead of just saying the scummy thing they did isn't scummy because that's just what I do.
It's like if I told everyone that I hammer anyone at L-1 and will Lurk all game, but don't worry that's my town play.
Looking for love in Alderaan places.
