Okay only 4 pages in and I got scum pings from Aeronaut.

This seems like how he was in the Flower Festival game I replaced into for him when he was scum.
Hey Aero we have any completed games together?

Welcome, Firebringer.

I missed about 5 pages of this thread and I'm apparently the counterwagon now!

For clarification: was very clearly a mocking attempt to discredit Lowell's play thusfar, and I had a good laugh at those who tried taking apart my arguments.

Also, Direfire, I didn't need to give an explanation for my vote because of how self-explanatory it was. Nobody else even called me out the fact that I voted you without having interacted with or even mentioned you in even the wslightest capacity, either, since you ere such obvious scum.

I have not encountered a d1 miller claim before, and I am unsure how they are usually handled! I suggest we (except for the cop) ignore it, since Taly could be either scum-aligned pretending to be a miller, or a real miller.

In retrospect, wth? I see that you're a relatively new player, but leaving my miller claim to a COP is a horrible idea.

Millers are guiltied despite being town, by a cop.

Suggesting everyone to ignore it except for the cop is throwing attention to my claim as if it had no purpose to make people aware of it.

You misunderstand. The cop should take note of a miller claim by not checking them. Nobody else should concern themselves with it.

The side-effect of forming a wagon on yourself was useful, however!

What did you think Radja achieved with the ABR vote?

Radja intended to pressure ABR into jumping through neat question hoops and giving nice ordered responses, but Radja did not achieve this.

Plus, how exactly is him forming a wagon on himself useful?

It allows players to be read more easily. I don't think we'd get far if no wagons were formed!

Omgus? Or are you going to attempt an explanation? Maybe try building a case against me and give me a chance to defend myself. That doesn't help me so much as help everyone else because it generates information. If we all just vote for each other without any explanation or defence then we won't learn anything after the flip.

As it stands it looks like you've selected one person that you want rid of for whatever reason and have become fixated on achieving that.

The vig claim is legit. Sidenote, last game I was scum in had a vig and they tried to leash him, and that was a disaster for them. Taly can attest to that. ironavp and frozen are town.

In post 294, Garmr wrote:
VC stuff take notice

Will also note that matt p and radja have a interesting relationship.

Most people have noticed radja awkward transition off the matt wagon he got a lot of votes for it

What people haven't noticed is the variety of transitions off the radja wagon. Mattp was originally second on the wagon before it took off. In post he votes radja for taking his vote off him and doesn't really push radja hard giving him some squirming room over his next few posts. Now 194 the wagon is at l-2

Now this is pretty funny because around this time Always innocent unvotes on the thought me and radja are masons then the next post he says never mind yet he never revotes radja or mentions him again.

It's actually around this time the radja wagon is dieing we have opposition to wagon now in the forms of lowell, dwlee not actively but in the fact they are questioning the wagon of radja that matt takes his vote off.

taly has no trouble pushing this wagon to l-2 being a bit of hypocrite in some aspects not that's a scum thing just showing my annoyance at him.

P-edit now this interesting AI switch of reads on radja.

Looks like you've taken a deeper look at the game than me but after reading this post I still don't have a clue what your hypothesis is, please clarify what conclusion you've drawn from these facts that you've pointed out.

I don't like Taly's vote. I don't like Dwlee's posts before replacing out. I don't like Mathilda delaying an unvote on MattP. Stop playing games, guys. We should lynch radja, Taly, or Firebringer.

Say you are vigilante and if you use your skill at night in the early part of the game then you are more likely to hit town than scum. Do you:

a) Not use your skill until you are sure that you are going to kill scum
b) Use your skill every night but out yourself so that you can attract the night kill.

Why would you choose b) over a) ?

its simple. town kills, then scum kill. scum will always kill town. town may kill town or scum. you add a vig and its like town gets an extra lynch. more town kills = good. im not saying MattP should have claimed, but i understand his logic for wanting to clear himself for the game to move on.

But the lynches give us information about who voted, when they voted, whether they were opportunistic or jumped off the wagon at the last moment, whether they were pointing a FoS at someone but not voting etc. This is why day one lynches are useful even though we are more likely to kill town. Vigilante kills only give us information from the flip. This is why they are anti-town.

A vigilante should avoid using their ability until they are confident of hitting scum.

Have you ever watched a hockey game? Players skate around a rink and try to shoot a puck in the opposing net that is guarded by a goalie.

The game is won after three periods by the team with the most goals.

In recent years, analysts have been studying "advanced statistics". In other words, collecting information. Possession, shots for, shots against, faceoff wins, controlled zone entries.

The theory is that if a team shoots the puck more than gets shot at, possesses the puck longer, wins more faceoffs, and enters the opposing team's side of the ice with the puck more often, they will come out ahead. But those don't always translate directly to goals. One netminder can singlehandedly change the entire game's outcome by a combination of luck and skill. So while the coaches do pay attention to all the aforementioned "advanced stats" to develop their strategy, the players themselves have to focus on "high scoring chances". Shots taken in the slot, the zone directly in front of the net, have higher impact than shots taken from the periphery, or from the neutral zone, for example.

All this to say that the vig should always shoot whether he's confident or not because no matter what the structure of the coach is, high scoring chances must be capitalized upon.

The greatest hockey player to ever skate, Wayne Gretzky, famously said "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take". My point is the vig is a very pro-town role and should be given free reign to shoot for us to get better odds of winning. I'm going to bed now. Good night.
