I can do both. I should do both. Everyone should do both. I'm not going to cement the guy as my enemy and refuse to cooperate with him in any way. I have no firm reads, I need to get people's opinions on things. This is what a town-player does. This is what a mafia player trying to look town should do. Basically this is good play and everyone should emulate it.

There is a difference between not acting as if your scumreads are 100% confirmed scum, and both attacking and reasoning with a player in the same breath. What the latter indicates to me is that you know your attack target is town, yet you still need to get them off your tail.
