*shrug* I left that open to voters' interpretation of their own votes.
Your own vote sounded serious - you implied it would contribute to a quick D1 lynch.-

But you could have 4 tabs open! P.S. Your mod color is hard to read against the default forum color scheme.
ok ok! I was just doing things as fast as I could!and what default forum color? Its awsome on the black one. Isn't it?
If thats a problem I can choose a darker color.

Not necessarily, at all, in any way? This is a Mini, meaning 2-4 Scum. Meaning 9-11 Town. Meaning this wagon (of 5 players) could easily be 100% TvT and Scum could just sit back and watch it happen. They don't have to want to lynch me and they don't have to not want to lynch me. It's page 2, page 3. They could easily ignore this wagon and nobody would notice, or care. So you're just wrong?!?
Not sure if you legit believe you're right or if you're pullin' stuff out your bum for fun.-

I don't like that you're assuming or implying that I was claiming "for-the-lulz"
I don't think anything I've done so far implies I was claiming "for-the-lulz"
It was a serious claim, in my first post, made out of frustration and because I knew it would give me something to work with RIGHT out of the gate. Tell me where I'm wrong in my train of thought here, and tell me why claiming VT in a Closed Normal Setup is inherently scummy / something that you don't like.-

In post 81, a plain farmer wrote:OK. Not for-the-lulz. My rather by the book response is that a VT should probably hush up and keep the scum in the dark.
Read this:
In post 226, Wisdom wrote:In general, you seem to have fixed ideas about how town think and act. You have to let them go. People can act in the scummiest of ways (and this example is not scummy at all, mind you) and still be town. People rarely do what you think they should be doing, what you expect them to do.
Now understand your stupid playbook means nothing to me. How you say you would play a VT, how you would play a VT; none of it matters to me. Deal with it. Move along. And find an actual reason to vote me. (tl;dr Get in line)
But that's no longer what most concerns me. You say you did it for the following reasons:
1) "out of frustration"
2) "It was a serious claim" made "because I knew it would give me something to work with RIGHT out of the gate"
*snip*
[...] These two dissonant reasons somehow found their way into the same sentence, as if you were subconsciously hoping readers would find one explanation they liked and ignore the other one.
Rearranging your thought process here because it's more coherent this way. Nice attempt at a minor misrep. I don't usually subconsciously hope anything when I post, and those two trains of thought / paths of reasoning are not mutually exclusive, and I'm sure you know that. I can be frustrated about X and KNOW with certainty that saying something about X will give me material to work with right out of the gate. That would make me more likely to say something about X, not less likely. The reasons aren't dissonant at all. What makes you think they are?
The second implies that it was a calculated move.People's behavior when frustrated typically isn't strategic or rational.
Again:
In post 226, Wisdom wrote:In general, you seem to have fixed ideas about how town think and act. You have to let them go. People can act in the scummiest of ways (and this example is not scummy at all, mind you) and still be town. People rarely do what you think they should be doing, what you expect them to do.
I do not have to accommodate your expectations for what a frustrated person should or shouldn't do. I do X and I am frustrated, therefore frustrated people can do X. Period. You don't expect frustrated people to do X? Who gives a shit? I am and I just did.
My behavior most of the time isn't strategic or rational. Things are more fun that way.
Not to mention the fact that the second reason you've labeled doesn't imply anything about "calculation" - "calculation" puts a needlessly negative spin on me simply taking a moment to think and realize (with a chuckle) "hey, I bet I know a way to shake shit up Day 1 - CLAIM VT", two seconds later, BAM, posted and confirmed. But no, because I dislike RVS and would rather just skip to the part where people sit votes on me all day, I instead become a criminal mastermind (and an idiot at the same time?) on page 1 in my first post. You give me too much credit.
In post 81, a plain farmer wrote:In post 80, Killthestory wrote:How does neither seem alignment indicative yet claiming VT like that is? wtf.
If any of those votes were scummy, it's more likely to be the later votes than the earlier ones (due to the speed of the wagon). But I'm not inclined to think any of them were scummy atm.
In a case of aggression vs. opportunism, you think opportunism is more likely to be Scum, yes? That seems to be what this implies. Why?
In post 89, Killthestory wrote:basically it hinders more than helps, to elaborate, just because it gives scum more chance to hit a PR than a VT. regardless of his reasoning, it's probably not going to work as he intended, and if it was calculated it was stoopid bro
Maybe it hinders you more than it helps, but I see it differently. I could easily be lying. Scum will have definitely thought of this. Basically, what Aristotle said: it's Wine, like I said when I first claimed. It's working well at giving me something to work off of, which was all I wanted. You're also giving me too much credit by assuming I put so much thought into this.
KEEP 'EM COMIN' BABES
@Jake from State Farm: where you at, bish? You're 1/3 of the reason I signed up. Come dance with me.
PEDIT:"Bad play =/= scummy play. Always remember that."
...That's fuckin' rude, bro. And based on an opinion, and therefore not necessarily objectively true. And a bit pretentious, Mr.2014.Last edited by Frozen Angel on Mon Mar 07, 2016 7:25 pm, edited 1 time in total.-

But the other component of my scumread on you was not a playstyle thing. The way those reasons, which were individually valid but unrelated, were injected in there together pings me as coming from a guilty mind.
It's just like if a highway patrolman were to pull over a guy who is speeding on his way to work. The guy's guilty mind might have him say something like: "I told my boss I'd come in early, and I wanted to get a good parking spot, and they might be waiting for me." All individually valid reasons, but together unrelated, and said in a burst like this in hopes that one would cause the officer to be lenient.
My point in saying "frustrated" and "rational" were dissonant was to make clear that these were indeed unrelated reasons (except for the fact that they were supposedly caused by the same thing, being frustrated and making a game move do not necessarily go hand in hand).
This is only a playstyle thing if you habitually make guilty-sounding statements while innocent. If that's the case, then we'll come to see that there's no scum motivation behind your actions and you'll be fine.
Your post was helpful, though, and I appreciate it.
Ew. Your tone is weird.-

probably just a better player and theorycrafter since that doesnt work in normal games. bussing is a silly tactic, and it's more useful to buddy your mafia buddy and go against meta.
You are 100% not a better player than Jake (and I would be willing to bet you're not necessarily better than me) unless you are an alt, and if you are you should out your main right now because playing under a secret alt while simultaneously being this pompous about how good you are as a player would just be a whole new layer of RL-distrust I couldn't get past to play this game.
UNVOTE:
I've been skimming all day from work and I may respond to things that were said but I just wanted to get it out there: story's attitude is one of the worst I've ever seen on this site, subtly so. It's not about being a 2012 or a 2015 (I joke about those things more often than most - gerroffmahlawn) it's about having a mutual respect for the players on this site. If you can't deal with that, I won't play with you.-

He's not scum for not voting kill, he's scum because he's not playing like a townie.from at least 2 people, he provides little to no actual substance,He's avoiding answering questions, he's not doing anything to progress the game andwhen asked to explain himself he does in as few words as possible, if he actually does it at allhe's not even attempting to convince others to follow him.
I think the bolded is the only thing of importance here but it's part of what leads me to think/assume Wisdom is Town. ScumWisdom is usually pushier and grabs for "townbloc" control more often. The underlined is null and par-for-the-course with him, sorry Jake. It's not alignment-indicative.

Other than this and post 364, which is basically a scumslip, I have no inspiration in this game. Killthestory makes this entirely unenjoyable to play and I wish one of us would be force-replaced or lynched or killed very soon. If you actually aren't an alt you have a lot of growth to do on this site before you go around calling established players and sound strategies bad. As it is, you're making yourself look like a fuckwit.-

I'm actually legitimately upset about this. I joined to play with Wisdom and Jake (and Aristophanes), and to experience and FA-modded game. Wisdom seems Town and even if he and Jake are duking it out, I appreciate that I'm getting all the good I remember from Jake and none of the rage I used to see from time to time. It's really disheartening to see somebody (KTS) appear out of the woodwork and be allowed to feel like they're the shit and think they already know everything and that everybody and everything else is wrong.
I expect, after prolonged interaction, you will become the second player on this site that I legitimately develop a hatred for. You are a black hole for this game for me, and I don't give a flying fuck if somebody tries to call me out for an appeal to emotion here, because I am emotional but I'm not appealing to anybody or anything.
I'm blocking you, and I'm not dealing with you in this game. Die tonight for all I care; I wish I could shoot you myself. I'm not replacing out of this game and I'm not giving you the time of day if you're going to come onto this site and ruin it for me. I don't have to deal with that bullshit and I won't.-

This inspires me to check Aristophanes' ISO, since I even have (sparse) meta to compare it to. I may come back tonight with that, but don't count on it.-

And really? We didn't have numbers for a lynch like one week before the deadline? That's the weakest argument ever.
1) You misunderstand, I mean this game is more enjoyable for me without him in it. Regardless of whether he was a good scumhunter or not. Catching 1 Scum in 1 game does not a good scumhunter make.
2) Again you misunderstand. I mean we had the numbers for the ML - and yes we only know it's a ML after the fact, but with 1 Scum gone last night I'm comfortable not giving a shit that we made that mistake yesterday.
Wisdom, let's be honest with eachother. There's no situation, even the expectation of a death-tunnel on somebody not-me, in which I would leave you alive if I were Scum in this game. I knew I'd get scrutiny for such an AtE hammer and I don't give a shit. Wise up. I'm Town. Now move on.
PEDIT: I tried a bunch of different permutations and got a game from 2003 (before any of us joined) and a game from 2015 that Jeanne was in but Wisdom was not. WTF?-

Which person? It's not even clear who you're pointing to given the fucked up link, and comparing Player X's play to Player Y's (even if Y is the alignment you expect X to be) isn't like comparing meta. You can't do that unless it's the same person. Try harder tho.

I'm so fucking confused. Is Wisdom an alt and his main is in that game? vice versa?

Ok...
In post 585, Wisdom wrote:Who says I am not considering these possibilities, Jeanne? Are you in my mind? All is not what it seems.
The fact I'm now calling Jake town doesn't tell you anything?
In post 586, Wisdom wrote:In post 531, Wisdom wrote:{Jake, Snarky, Masquerade, Maestro} = lynchpool, that order.
Remove Jake, put Maestro in front
Ok. "All is not what it seems" is the epitome of you being your normal slightly-pretentious and unreadable self. The fact that you're now calling Jake so Town he's not even in your lynch pool means you're calling him Town-that's-so-Town-he's-not-even-in-your-lynchpool. Am I missing something other than your reads progressing, which Jeanne is alledging has not happened?
Jake from State Farm wrote:In post 569, Wisdom wrote:Jake is town, Jeanne. Maestro isn't.
of course I am, but why the 180 all of a sudden. because now magically maestro is scum and he left you alive to lynch me? like you were a threat to be killed night 1 outside of a possible vig kill that is.
You're wrong. He is definitely a threat to Scum, and he knows this. But his logic is then that, given D1 interactions, I expected he would death-tunnel you and thus I left him alive. As if that would overwrite any potential threat he would pose to me if I were Scum. It's confirmation bias: I am Scum, thus I am more likely Scum because he is alive, which must mean that I left him alive to death-tunnel you, because I am Scum. Vicious circle.
Not to mention by the same WiFoM logic I could say that Scum left him alive to think that I left him alive to death-tunnel you... ad infinitum.
In post 572, Wisdom wrote:I've said why Maestro is scum, Jeanne. Address my reasoning.
no you didn't, at least not with anything that is actually a reason why he could be scum, just like you didn't give any reason why I was scum originally or why anyone on your list is scum.
I still don't see a reason Jake was ever Scum, so I second this as it relates to your "reasoning" for scumreading first him then myself. It usually just annoys me when you don't give reasoning, Wisdom, but here it just seems silly and more than a little stubborn.-

Like, no. It's inexcusable to say this. If he were obvTown I couldn't've hammered him because he wouldn't've been at fucking L-1, Wisdom.-

I tentatively agree that Wisdom is Town; we have the numbers for my ML.
I have no problem dying to prove him wrong. It's happened before.
Just acknowledge Jeanne's glorious fencesitting tomorrow, and give time for the inactives to come contribute.
PEDIT: The Scum death implies either a Vig, SK, or less likely multiball, and the fact that he commented on it could mean he's setting the stage for a Vig claim off of the "confirmable" SK role, given the fact that everything would be true about it except his alignment.-

He was at L-1 because people didn't like his attitude.
I disagree with this.-

There's no convincing you right now, I'm assuming, since you refuse to engage in dialogue and nobody else is around.

Assert how you've been playing very anti-town?
Irrelevant. I accept I'm going to be lynched. I expect Wisdom to reevaluate the game and continue to scumhunt, and I want him to be expecting and preparing to do so. Relatedly, I expect nobody to give him a free pass for his bullshit yesterday (with Jake) and today (with me) and hold him to his own scumthunting standards. Don't allow him to shut down and don't allow him to pretend the gamestate is static and don't allow him to continue to scumhunt, because Jake is still wrong: Wisdom is still going to be one of our strongest assets if he's Town and the possibility that he's not Town cannot be ignored, especially if he shuts down after I flip Town or selectively remembers this exchange later in the game.-

I know how you get, Wisdom. Your cockiness is only one symptom of the fact that, in fact, yes - more often than not you get what you want in games, regardless of alignment. You haven't given a shit about me and my mindset today; you never asked about my reads, which was troubling until I realized you're still stuck on the hammer from yesterday. You're absolutely fixated. I've needed to reevaluate the game since last Night ended.

Respond to the stuff I mentioned then. Wisdom is not the only one scum reading you.
