watched six mins-
A) Alistar kept on engaging on the vayne, which is useless- should be focusing raka
B) Q's were being hit
C) you won the lane according to the CS, dont worry about kills that much.
D) You werent harassing raka enough, should be hitting her because that makes her go b, in which you can then engage on vayne and kill vayne.-

so uh
ive been taking teemo mid a lot
and probably because ive gotten good at laning with him compared to my elo,
it's been cool
things are certainly different, but in mid i have more impact around the map, can guard drag, and generally have a much squishier and more immobile opponent compared to what i'd face in topYou can't step in the same river twice.-

If you're winning with tito mid then you are in the land of total incompetence, and I'm not even sure where that is since in br5 I haven't seen it (although I wish I had).
There is no mage with a shorter range than tito and no one who can't burst him to oblivion. There are a bunch of mages who trade favorably with him too. We can forgo hyperbole and just say he's not able to go in mid.-

in fact, his winrate's a lot worse in jungle than it is in mid, and i've experienced his issues as a jungler even post-runic echoes firsthand
i certainly don't think it's easy to play him mid; every issue with it lil g brought up is mostly true
but it's definitely not impossibleYou can't step in the same river twice.-

I think the most common builds are almost always fine unless there's a bug. The highest win ones are much less even in quality as they can indicate a host of things. You can see this is especially true with the "first ability chosen" thing, where a lot of times a big CC ability that's fairly useless to take as a solo laner level 1 is the #1 win, but I think that's because you'd only take it if you pulled off a fairly successful invade/counter-invade.
For example, Morgana mid in the vast majority of circumstances can't utilize a Q at level 1 because there's no real damage to follow up -- you really want Q-W. But her highest win rate is a Q first for mid lane (it makes sense to take first as a support, obviously). There's a reason why Morgana takes W first in 2571 games compared to 546 games even though it's consistently been the case that Q first is the higher win rate.
Other problems are that some builds are only successful because you get super fed. For a long time, Sona's highest win build was a pretty damage focus build, but at least when I was playing tons of Sona, I found that only works well when you get fed in lane almost to the level of a carry..-

It's happened before, but nowadays, I know the Illaoi build is faulty. From what I have seen other people buy, from what the better illaoi "mains" play, etc. And from what I can deduce logically myself. First item according to champ.gg is cleaver. Which isn't a very good item for her. It's too offensive, cleaver gives percentage armor pen which you can't use yet (not that much armor around yet), and becomes abusive when you have a ad-dot or a combo series you can pull off. Illaoi has neither, she has big damage moves and is slow to put them out, having a very poor attackspeed and her tentacles apart from her q being unreliable.
The item you do want is gauntlet, which helps your waveclear, sets up your combos since a slow zone is very practical when your opponent is trying to dodge slow predictable tentacles, and it gives yousomecontrol, as well as more tankiness, and it synergises very well with your given second item which is steraks. That item both builds agree on and it plays to her strengths. "If" you get cleaver and that isn't an obvious choice imo, you get it after that, when it's competing with defensive options, most notably visage.Surrender, imagine and of course wear something nice.
