I'm not going to waste time stretching my brain through all the (likely crackpot) theories to try and figure why he would do that as town when I can just get him to do it and narrow down the possibilities.

There isn't really much else to read into in a player that has 15 posts, around half of which (being generous) lack any sort of substance at all.

Scum can hammer, and the hammering scum can "flee", meaning they can't be chosen in the post-day stage.

I still think hippy is scum, but when we're not even halfway to deadline yet, I'd rather wait before making a decision and talk all this stuff out.

well i mean basically all in-thread scumhunting ceases more or less after we all become third parties (if hiplop does turn out to be town) so it would be nice for everyone to have made a solid 20 posts or so to ensure there'd actually be stuff to think about from each player

im pretty sure on a base statistical level, our best shot at nabbing scum at any point in this game is with the lynch.
therefore it should be the decision we take the longest making.

then we used our strongest tool because we were just impatient and didnt want to figure shit out.

If we hit scum in this, we get all 12 of us town win, and both scum lose. It also doesn't require you personally to get the scum right, just the town majority.

If we go into the second round, the town player that is lynched has lost, the chance of hitting scum goes from 2/16 to 1/14 and the likely easier to have found of the two scum players has gone, you have to have your top scumread personally right or you lose, and even if you get it right, if you have the most number of people thinking you're scum, you'll lose anyway.

It's much better for us to lynch scum in the day than it is to go into the second stage.

I can tell you that, from my experience in the previous two games, what happens after we become third parties is that there's a little bout of finger-pointing over getting the lynch wrong and then zilch aside from people acting evasive when asked who they're accusing and generally hyperventilating over that
