Played a game of Swain yesterday and he still feels clunky, but we needed a tanky'er mid and I had good experiences with Swain in the past. The fun thing about Swain though is that no one ever faces him so people try to burst him and then fail, they need to run as hell. Went RoA, Abyssal, Zhonya, Rylai's and felt I could tank a lot. Sad thing is the game dragged too long and with a Sivir and Cassio with Morello ultimately effed me.
I still think he'll have the same weaknesses, both in lane and teamfights

RoA may not be his thing anymore. I think the rework makes it into something that you only get when you're trying to snowball and early advantage, as its final stats are poorer now.

So go Athene/Morello for his mana issues? I must admit I did solokill my laner twice which allowed me to go negatron-> RoA finish at 15mins.

hmm, yeah, that is awkward. RoA used to be such a natural fit for swain, to get quite the substantial one item powerspike. New RoA seems to be about spamming ones spells to get regen, which isn't really swains thing. He needs a max mana pool (which points to morellos) and bulk...

I don't actually know how that will play out. He gets so much free cdr in his build now, and technically he can use it, but it's not really his thing. Not sure if the items are a natural fit for him then.

The pool. It had %hp damage and/or shred or someshit. I just know that the e w ignite r combo could take down cho gath and other big hp tanky dfudes and it was because of the pool. Does he still have those benefits on the pool?

Aye, this. Basically, they removed the base DoT from the ult and buffed the fuck out of the pool. His combo is one keypress shorter, does less base damage but more % and scaling damage, and the Voidlings are different now.

I think malz, yes. His rework seems rad. I think Ryze is getting a lot of love from the items, everything he wants is in there. Lots of smaller beneficiaries, brand, kass. I think SAD should be decently happy for karth. I think ori should also appear again as a top pick, maybe not low level because she's still hard, but higher up. Same goes for swain, I do think he gets more powerful, but at our level, simply his last hitting is never going to let him become a top pick.

I like the new champ. However, Rito can't say they're concerned about mobility creep then add a champion with an ability that does damage on dashes to help resolve it, and then give that champ two hypermobile abilities.

Double TP meta and the sheer amount of global skills (including high movement stuff) is really changing the game. I'm not sure I like it, but it is what it is.

Malzahar ult at base level 3 does 50% of max health in damage to every target in the pool if you let him get the full channel.
