Hey guys. Been following the game. I'd bet the game on Infinity and Lane being town. Other townreads are MoI, qubixes, Fire Assasin, and RedCoyote. I thought Something_Smart was town earlier but some posts made me rethink that read so I need to go through him again due to possible association with FAQ2. Conflicted on MM. Null on BBT. FAQ2 is a scumread.

To you and everyone else who's questioning s_s, why is that? I really liked his analysis, but a lot of it came from his catchup post, and catchup posts tend to be easier to fake as scum.

Wait, explain. Do you mean there's one scum in that group of six or that you think the entire team is in the group? If it's the former, that's really unhelpful (although almost certainly correct), if it's the latter, you're just making yourself look foolish to try and call the entire game on D1.

I think it more likely than not contains all the scum, given how strong my townreads are on everyone else. (Maybe s_s is in there too). My confidence depends somewhat on the amount of scum there are, but yeah.

@BBT: Why do you take offense from to insults to your scumgame but not the ones to your towngame?

Well my reason for townreading you mainly has to do with the fact that you said you don't like being town. I don't really see how rc got a scumread (well it's just that you're not helping town very much) but I wouldn't have given you a townread at that point either really

I wasn't expecting a town read. But I certainly didn't expect a scum read based on what I have contributed to the game thus far.

Like, I'm not even saying RC is scum for it. He could be scum, but only if MM is scum. Otherwise, he's very likely town because scum!RC doesn't leave town!MM's wagon to start a vanity wago that he has no real basis for pushing.

This is in my opinion you stretching to classify something as scummy. The whole notion of “to” being a huge difference maker between scum and Town motivation is pretty poorly thought out given that written English can convey the same notion in many different ways. I’d classify the whole point as nitpicking looking for reasons as opposed to actually looking for scum intent.

Since the last bit of your post is basically a LAMIST attack – what do you think of Red Coyote’s similar “I don’t make mistakes so you should see me as Town” posting?

I'm not a native English speaker, so I could be wrong there. It seemed others had the same interpretation as well though. Either way, if he had just cleared it up at that point that would be fine in my opinion. But it kind of swerved all over the place for reasons why he called.

The bit you quote is about looking up the prices of the abilities, right? I agree that it looks a bit weird, i.e. could be scummy. I thought your argument at the start was stretching it quite a bit, and RC's defenses looked sound to me. The part about the meta between you was really weird and I don't know what to make of it. I haven't caught up yet though.

Not sure what you mean with "at worst Null"? You think it's either towny or null? In my opinion scum are more motivated to put out a readlist like that to look like town. Town look town by trying to scumhunt. Scum don't want to do that (obviously), so they have to resort to things that look towny but don't further the town's goals. I mean, he wasn't in immediate danger of getting lynched at all. If I remember correctly you were also suspicious initially because of the readlist, so it looks like you also didn't like it either. You liked his response, I didn't.

Bad and scummy are not synonymous. Frankly I can point to at least one other player in this thread whose shtick is to play purposefully bad for whatever reason. That doesn’t mean they are always scum. Which is unfortunate because I want to lynch said player every time for being a worthless pile of junk. As to your “he’s wanting both sides of the coin” – meh … I don’t find that compelling. If he was trying for Newbie shield while simultaneously attacking someone else for trying to claim Newbie status I would find that suspect. This … not so much.

Not sure why you're saying bad != scummy? I never claimed it to be. I'm not saying MM is playing badly.

So if these are the tentpoles of your case I can’t say that I find it vote-worthy.

So you don't find the case compelling. That's fine. And yes, he could be town and say these things. You are right about that. Still think you undersold the case though. At the moment I don't think Lane is partnered with MM. I also think it would be a little bold of you to defend a scum buddy like that, but not impossible. Not really looking for buddies at the moment. I think it's a little too early for that.

BBT's probably town, I've seen him be abrasive and defensive as town and I think he'd be doing more as scum. I think RC's objections are mostly explainable by BBT's not liking being town as much.
RC's assertion that he and I were the only true supporters of the MM wagon is not really accurate (though I still think he's town); I never expressed any read on MM for the majority of the original wagon's life, whereas other people (like lane) definitely did help that wagon along more than I did.
I'm liking Infinity for town but I really don't see where that MM read comes from and it seems a bit like a WK... you're saying scumtells for newbs are different, but you have to remember that MM is not new to the game, and probably shouldn't be treated as such in terms of his interactions.
