Different sites play differently, there are reasons why it is recommended to start with a couple of newbie games.

Starting with a 42 player bastardly role madness game with a lot of experienced players is NOT a good idea for your first game on site. If you really are a newbie I would highly suggest going to the newbie queue.

I have since been told why early random Vanilla Townclaims may make sense (i.e. because they look scummy as anything to Vanilla Cops).
