I don't think his role would be a scum role since giving a scum vig in a 13p would be crazy. His role feels too weird, conditional and provable to be a fake claim.

Eh I don't think scum would get extra kills and I have no reason to believe the town is stacked especially considering my role is just a fancy vanilla townie. Also if he was a SK why would he randomly strap on a bunch of provable conditions to his NK so I think that is also not a possibility.

I was scum reading him for being MIA early on but it turns out he was vla so that is kind of meh at this point. I can go back and reread his catch up but overall I don't that much of a reason to believe he is town or scum based on play and I doubt his catch up will leave an impression on me the second time around but I may end up reading it again later tonight.

For one it's provable. So if he's outright lying, he'll be caught eventually.

Well to prove the role, we'd need to send someone to do an action on his target, hence making a potential useful role waste a night, and announcing who's doing what may involve roleblocks or he himself can be roleblocked, I already have a thing that i dislike about roles that require other town roles wasting actions to be useful.

For another, it's containable. We can have him claim his shots prior to night phase (which is also btw how we prove his role or not) such that he can't do scum things and claim "oh well I thought they were scum so".

Well this is true.

For a third, the complexity of the role and the way it matches up poorly wiht his flavour doesn't seem like something he'd decide to do if he was going to take that long to devise a fakeclaim. Like a vig who only works when someone else targets it too? Paranoid vig?

Well the complexity of the role is what's giving me misgivings, but it may be me just having a general dislike of roles that rely on other PRs to waste their actions to even be useful =/

This is part of it, i can't talk about the rest of it right now tho, i'm not exactly worried about him surviving the lynch to begin with.
