If Cass was town, I think her defence would be more impassioned, or she would try to throw an alternative wagon she really believes in like the implosion one, not conjuring scumminess from thin air and attaching it to PP. People are voting/FoSing her and she's just like "(not now, gtg, alas)."

Just wanted to thank you guys for all playing in my game, and apologize that I wasn't as present as I should've been (and made very inconsistent flavor).

This is a great time to write comments postgame! It's often very helpful to try and figure out what scum were thinking, or just kind of as a group reflect on how the game went down and what you could have done to improve your game maybe. IC/SEs especially, maybe kind of a nice constructive/compliment-like comment towards each newbie would be helpful for those

GG all, sorry Cass. I think town had a hard time adjusting to the switch between our styles.

Scumteam played a really good game. PP was my strongest townread starting from the end of D1. Drone gave me a "too scum for scum" vibe...

Uh, that's a third vote movement from me.
Would be stupid on my part to blame Cass for jumping around votes while doing it myself.

...and I thought he was town until very late in D3 (and even then I wasn't sure). I'm impressed that Cass and 0x were able to figure out his alignment so quickly.

0x40: I noticed that you tend to undercut your own cases or emphasize the least convincing parts. For instance, the VI stuff with Chrimi made your case on her being scum feel a lot weaker and less genuine. I was kind of curious about what types of reaction scum has to this--like is it scummy to ignore your cases?

This is my first scum game from start to finish (I replaced into a slot and won, mostly because my scum buddy was universally town read). I'd appreciate any feedback as to how I played. I come from a completely different forum mafia background, so I'm trying to find my playstyle.

So, shannon claimed cop (or maybe cop/jk) very early on Day 1 and called her check on implosion.

9. implosion (IC) - I can't get a read here, Implosion is a much better player than I am and I have seen the whole 'reasonable town leader' thing from scum as well as from town. I think I'm going to have to wait for a flip before I know anything much about him.

Several people acknowledged her claim, and nobody counter claimed, so it basically became common knowledge.

Rereading is making me like shannon a little more--that's just a gut read, I don't really have a good reason for it. I didn't notice all of her posts the first time through.

My main interpretation of shannon's behavior is "impressed." Her reaction test focused on the larger picture, so she's probably townhunting more than scumhunting. My guess is that she's either a power role exploring the situation or scum searching for ideal targets.

Hopefully this explains why shannon was able to lead town and set the lynch pool at the end of day 1, and why everyone (?) assumed that shannon was roleblocked N1.

Overally, this game wasn't simple, especially for me..
If not Chrimi and Imp, I wouldn't have survived day 2

Good game, everyone.

I think most of the newbies played well overall. I don't really have any issues with PP's or drone's or AF's or any of the other new players' play. drone did a good job of obfuscating things near the end (and fooling Chrimi, which I think was one of the big keystones in the scum win on the last day). There were a lot of weird interactions between me and Cass and drone and I think those sort of made the game difficult to figure out. I just got bogged down in an incorrect scumread on Cass. It happens. In retrospect of course I wish I hadn't turned around on PP but alas, he did a good job convincing me to.

Really the only town newbie that I have salient advice for is 0x40 who I would just recommend not get bogged down in things if everyone else is recommending that you don't get bogged down in them, or in things that are very binary (like saying that you support a policy lynch). Those things are generally not good indicators of scum because in a meta where they actually become indicative of scum, it's very simple for scum to stop doing them.

Overall though I don't think the town played particularly badly. The game going to evens messed us up a lot because we never got any useful information from either the setup or from nightkills since no one ever died at night except the claimed jailkeeper. Shannon's claim was a mistake but ultimately I think the lesson there is just be cautious about claiming; things aren't always obvious when you think they are.

The weird language and shitty arguments threw me off so hard I attributed them to noobtown instead of scum.
