I do not really agree with Titus that a scum newbie would propose a no lynch, but we just started RVS, so it didn't come off as (at least to me) a "nn30 is 100% scum for saying this", as much as "there's possible newbscum motivation behind this suggestion, here's a good vote."

Hi everyone, sorry for my late entrance! Due to family life, I am generally V/LA on weekends.

That said, I am your friendly IC for this game! There are three amazing SE's playing that are available to help out as well, and seeing as I know at least two of them have way more experience than me, make sure you pay attention to how they play and what they have to offer as well. I'm going to start off with my intro post, and then I'll dive into the game!

Hello everyone, and welcome to mafiascum! This is my first time as an IC (Inexperience-Challenged), so I will do my best to acclimate you to our forums and game system, and will provide feedback at the end of the game with my thoughts. I hope to get some from you as well, so that I can continue to serve as an IC to the best of my ability.

What does me being an IC mean?

• I am here to help you with game theory and answer any questions you may have about how to play.
  
• Related to the above point, I will

  lie to you in regard to anything about the mechanics of the game.
  
• I am still a normal player in this game. I do not have any outside information, and should not be treated differently in terms of the game.
  
• This game is not meant to be "easy-mode", as that will not help you learn. I will play to my wincon as if it were any other game, and expect each of you to do the same. I should not be treated differently because I am the IC.

IC

- Inexperience Challenged. This is a player that has been around for a little while, and has volunteered to join a Newbie game to help teach the game. If you are interested in ever being an IC, you can find info here.

SE

- Semi-Experienced. Semi-Experienced players have played a few games on site, and are included in Newbie games to assist in showing the ropes. There is no teaching expectation from them, though it is likely you can pick up some times from just their play. More information on SE is here.

RVS/RQS

- Random Voting Stage/Random Question Stage. This is a standard way to start games, by randomly voting for players or posing questions. This allows discussions to start, and to get a general feel for reactions and motivations.

- This is an annotation for how many votes are required to achieve a lynch. For example, L-2 means that two more votes are needed to lynch the target.

- The final vote to achieve a lynch.

L-1

- It is generally encouraged to announce when your vote places somebody at L-1. This gives the rest of the players a chance to determine whether or not they actually want the lynch performed, and also gives the target a chance to claim if they so wish.

This is less than 20 posts into the game, and therefore should still be considered RVS, unless somebody has a good reason for a legit vote. Why do you think Titus voting nn as a possible random vote is any scummier than you voting Titus for said vote?

On day one we don't have anything other than a hello and some bsing to go off of. Those feelings are worthless.

I'm still not seeing how no lynches are bad. *shrug*

, scum are still going to kill somebody at night. While that narrows the pool of players to be scum, it also gives town less information. While I do not have the math on it, there is at least the chance to hit scum during the day, which is impossible to do if we no lynch.
