I understand pressure can be a good tactic on some things but using your vote to get someone to out reads quickly (and possibly fake ones just to get a vote off them) is never a good way of doing it.

You're right I don't know about you but I don't think better under pressure and I'm going to assume that's the case for others in some stances to look at it this way:

Pip: Out reads toto I'm going to vote you until you do (vote)
Toto (thoughts): Oh no he's voting me I better out some reads...they're not that strong but okay
Toto: (outs reads)
Person A (maf): How did you get those reads toto?
Toto: (outs some weakish reasoning)
Person B (town): That's not very strong I think they're fake! (votes toto)
(Toto gets lynched and flips town)
Person A: Person B is the one who started the toto bw on a weak vote lets get him!
(Person B gets lynched)

The bottom line is I feel like you shouldn't make someone out reads until they're good and ready

Absolutely. it happens like every game, except for the Person B getting lynched part. Being wrong is not scummy, and people are very rarely lynched solely because they started a wagon on town that ended up in a mislynch.

Here's the thing though. What pip did is essentially Scum Hunting 101.

1. Apply pressure to someone.
2. Gauge their (and everyone else's) reaction to it.
3. Draw conclusions from said reactions.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 until game is solved.

The onus is on Toto to respond properly, regardless of his alignment, to avoid being scum read.

You voted me to take pressure off of toto which is why I am currently voting you. If town chooses to makeup reads instead of being honest they deserve to get lynched.
