That's the read I've been softing.

I have a flavor cop because of my lyncher status, and we've seen that flavor is probably linked to alignment with the flips we've seen thus far. With the Tsukiko flip, let's assume that there's also Xykon and Redcloak in the scum team.

But if there was another flavor cop, they would see that my name is Roy Greenhilt, and probably assume I'm town. Lyncher on scum is essentially town, but my lyncher wincon is still negative utility.

So if you wanted to introduce an SK, or maybe a lyncher on town, into the setup, a role I wouldn't have a reason to care about as killing them isn't part of my wincon, who would make flavor sense in that role while still having plausible town flavor?

That, plus a few other things I'm forgetting about right now, formed my read.
