Spoiler: Scum Reads
Sakura Hana.
I started scum reading her very early on when I noticed her tone dramatically shift after her opening posts. In 43 and 44, her tone is serious and sharp as she comes out with guns blazing by stating that she thinks Creature and Percy are town. In 73, the same tone is present as she questions LQ's assessment on a question I had asked the mod. However, shortly after, her tone dramatically changes. Compare 86, 91, and, 220 to her opening posts. I don't have the words to describe it but there is definitely a tonal shift there. Now why is this of concern and something I made a note of? Well, just take a look at her 238 and 246. In the first post, she states that she's feeling awkward due to having just come off from a long hiatus. In the second, she's explaining why she jumped on to the M&M wagon. What I see in these posts however is a lot of explaining and justifying that feels forced. It reads like she's trying to sell that awkwardness that she just made known due to the reaction from M&M. I don't buy that she's having such a hard time due to how she opened up the game. The second reason why I'm scum reading her is because of her read on the E&O slot. She says she town reads them because someone told them in another game that Ari lurks as scum and she's not seeing that here. There's a few problems with this town read. One, she claims someone told her about Ari's meta. Now if she says she was on a long hiatus, why isn't she more concerned that Ari may have drastically changed his game in her absence? Why isn't trying to do her due diligence? The second problem is, the game just started. Who's to say Ari doesn't plan to lurk and coast after Day 1? There just isn't enough of a sample size to determine if Ari is lurking or not. The third problem is, the E&O is a hydra. Ali was fairly inactive during the time of my interactions with Hana. How can she have such a confident read on the slot just based off one head?
E&O.
938 and why they're scum reading me is my reasons for scum reading Orestes. I can't recall him ever calling me scum with any conviction. All he's saying is that my play is exactly how an SK would play. There are a few problems with this. He's scum reading me for how he thinks serial killers play. He's not going off a trend or established meta, just how he thinks the SK plays. Second, why the emphasis on SK? If you don't think I'm town, just say that then. Every time he mentioned me as possibly being a SK, all I saw in my head was a guy who didn't want to seriously commit to calling me scum and pushing me. My reasons for scum reading Electra come for why he's scum reading and his poor defense of M&M. In 1614, they're scum reading me and vote me for my 1609. The first part of the reasoning given for why he found my 1609 scummy is because it is something he sees himself doing as scum. I don't even think I have to explain the problem with that. The second reason is pre-flip associations. Unless the definition of pre-flip associations overnight, I'm definitely not doing that there. Now the M&M defending. Electra has said a quite a few times now that there is no point in going after M&M because they're likely to give a town response to them being wagoned. This is odd to me considering this is very similar to how Music has been barking that everyone should town read them. It also doesn't make sense because forcing M&M to give a response is how the game is played. We determine if the responses to being wagoned and the cases on them are genuine or not. Why Electra doesn't want to do this is beyond me?
M&M.
I've scum read this slot since the beginning and it is the only slot I really want gone today. As I stated earlier, Music seems more focused on proving people right than actually scum hunting. They seem to be using their anger as a means of control and a way to ware us down as time goes on. Their scum reads, the biggest and most notable in Hawk are based off of NAI reasons and the cases we've asked for, have not been provided.
