Thank you for playing everyone!

I'll write up some comments in the next day or two.In post 582, Fykus wrote:Id appreciate any feedback on my play aswell. I realised my pr hints werent subtle enough and i also need to work on not coming off as scummy..-

I apologize profusely for my disappearance at the end of the game. There was a lot that was going on irl and I thought it all started winding down so I started a game. I genuinely did expect to come back after my last post and explain but I was not able to. I was going to ask to be replaced out once this day started but you bunch ended before I got home today haha. Thanks for dealing with me not being completely present, guys. Good game and good luck to you guys in your next game.-

RIP me. I was hoping that Fykus was doc and not cop lol. There was nothing I could do about them investigating me so I just hoped that they would investigate someone else instead. That was kind of an unfortunate first game for me with me having to play as mafia without any prior experience. It didn't help that people were already looking at me after I subbed in for Destro who was already being scumread by everyone lol. Any tips at all about how I play would be very welcome. GG everyone!-

If it's about your strat, I think it's a shitcan way to teach Newbies to play - but I'd use it in a typical Open setup if it existed, yes.In post 589, RadiantCowbells wrote:I do!
I also had something that I wanted to say to rb if they're interested?
As scum I nornally wouldn't have fussed over it at all but I didn't think that winning the game was as important as making the point that I think it's a bad way to learn to play. Wasn't aware of its existence in the beginning of this game but the next game I play I sure won't be using it.
For anyone wondering, some of the toxicity was scum motivated, some not.-

I think the strategy is mildly helpful but shouldn't be a major discussion point during games. If there's a bp they claim and are basically conftown and everyone moves back to scumhunting. I think it's unhelpful to invest a lot of time into the strategy or consider it "breaking" or the like. It prevents bp claims from being lynched later on and restricts scums ability to fakeclaim bp (which is rarely successful anyway) and not much more than that.In post 593, rb wrote:

@mhsmith, I agree that it shouldn't be a major discussion point, but in this particular game 7/9 had claimed not-BP and the remaining players (who were both scum, btw) were not being pressured to claim. If I hadn't pushed it and made it the focus of discussion the second half of day1 then scum would have received all the benefit and none of the downsides of the BP claims.-

Well it sounds like scum suffered from not just going w the flow then? Weird outcome, usually scum have opposite problem. I don't see why losing a fake claim that scum never actually successfully make is a big deal tho, so I dunno why they don't just roll w it?Showhttp://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Mhsmith0

I think rb was objecting to the claim strategy on purely philosophical grounds. As he said before he just thought that the strategy was a bad way to teach new people how to play. Also thanks @Loopdan + rb but I think if I played better we wouldn't have lost this quickly. I'd just like to know if I slipped up or something and if that was why people were suspicious of me (only reason that I can think of that would explain Fykus reading me would be that I pushed him aggressively but other than that I don't know).
