Shuffle Chess: the silent speaker vs rOver

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Tue Jul 20, 2004 4:40 pm

Post by rOver »

Anyone would like to play Shuffle (Fischerrandom) Chess? It's same as normal chess, only the starting position of the pieces is randomized. If you want to play go to http://www.chessgames.com/perl/fischerandom note down the position and it's number. Then post the number along with your first move (if you choose white).
Note that castling rules are a little different becouse the king and the rooks can start from unusual squares.

I wonder if chess boards are installed and if they can handle arbitrary starting positions.

Starting position(in forsyth notation): nrbbkqrn/pppppppp/8/8/8/8/8/8/PPPPPPPP/NRBBKQRN

Moves:
1.e4 f5
2.exf5 Qxf5
3.Ng3 Qf7
4.Nb3 e5
5.Bf3 d5
6.d4 Ng6
7.dxe5 Nxe5
8.Qe2 0-0
9.Be3 Nxf3+
10.gxf3 b6
11.0-0-0 Bb7
12.Bd4 c5
13.Bxg7 Kxg7
14.Nf5+ Kh8
15.Nh6 Qf4+

I'll play. I'm looking at (a1-h1) NRBBKQRN; it's position 392. I'd like to play as white and open with e4.
I think it's pretty clear that TSS's awesomeness did alter the roles each of us recieved, and thus he's obviously pro-town. -- Save The Dragons

That looks right. I'll try to edit the first post every now and then to list the moves. My reply is f5.
