Yep, it's gotta be. An Alisae scum flip won't change Chris's opinions about oldwino or myself in any realistic way, and his whole case against intending to vote Alisae right now centers around his assumption that TB is town.

Chris is in a VERY awkward spot. He will have to perform some incredible mental gymnastics tomorrow to convince anyone that TB is scum.

I guess the MVP award for this game has to go to

. On a day 2 where the scum team was essentially outing themselves repeatedly, mastina nevertheless did everything she could to ensure that the actual wagons shifted to and stayed on town. It's difficult to carry a scum team that hard, but she was up to the task. She's apparently one of the site's better scum players and proved it again here.

PS On a non-sarcastic note I'd like to apologize to the newbies who were actually trying (oldwino's day 2 efforts were near heroic given how awful the day was overall). Unfortunately, really terrible townies who think they know what they're doing is something you'll see a lot of. Sometimes you'll get to see then when you're scum though so at least that's helpful. Still, USUALLY when you roll town you'll have a better team than you had this game. And I apologize for my part in not really doing enough on day 1 to avoid the lynch (even though I still think it was pretty ridiculous).

For the record, it was actually fairly obvious that both you and ThinkBig had a very strong preference for not actually lynching each other while being happy to shade each other and keep your options open. It worked in a newbie game but usually wouldn't in other formats.

Some mods care, some don't. I remember you ended 1780 with a bizarrely similar "scum didn't shoot the BP" scenario as well and you'd said the game was over in dead thread as well. Since you are a mod who cares I'll try and keep it in mind in the future.

For the record, my town slip early on was completely manufactured. I laughed every time someone brought it up, especially those who said I couldn't have come up with it on my own!

After striking out impossibles/least possibles FMPOV, that leaves three newbs and three experienced players.

want

to say that newbscum would be more likely to be standing out even on d1, but after 1777, I know that's just not so, at least from my perspective.

That said, I'm still confident that at least one of the Scum are experienced, because there has been a good amount of interaction between all of the newbies that I wouldn't expect to see if both the Scum were newb.

Of the experienced, I doubt RC would hesitate to push a wagon here if he was scum, because this town is begging to be led and scum!RC has the chops to do so. So, + mark for him.

mastina/Smith, I HIGHLY doubt are the Scum team, else they put on some world class theater, so at least one of the scum are newb.

I'd rather save the mastina/Smith dipole for d2, as choosing wrong will cost us a strong town, so it would be best to lynch their newb partner.

For the record, this actually reads a lot like a distancing vote. It's a bunch of words that basically boiled down to "eh fuck it I guess I'll vote lemon", especially since
1) It was a spot (very late day 1) where it was almost impossible that lemon would actually get lynched (given boht the time remaining and who was voting where), and
2) Literally nothing in here would ever convince anyone (much less a bunch of people) to hop off my wagon and move to lemon.
I wish I'd taken the time to look at this more closely in the final minutes of Day 1, but since I'd left the board with a pretty well defined POE of RC and the scum team (even if I mistakenly thought RC/lemon was the team), I really don't feel too badly about my performance, especially since my lynch was derp-driven by two players who were consistently terrible all game (darklyn and mastina). Sometimes shit just happens.

I will say it was a well done slip, not in the sense of just doing it, but in the sense of actually working it into a solving type post. As something explicitly intentional, that was very impressive and well done!
