Now that Planar Handbook is legal, Full Plate is no longer the best armor. Mechanus gear has +10 AC, as opposed to Full Plate's +8. (But it reduces your movement speed to 15 feet). Should we get that instead?

I have 12 dex. I don't think I want to trade 1 AC for movement speed, since jump checks are affected by movement speed.

If I was a dwarf (and didn't have 12 dex), I'd be all for it.

Cutscene 2 & Map to the Western Tunnels of the mines

Cutscene 2 occurs about a week after events of Act 1.

Alexander Armsworth can be now found at the Town Hall.

So, here is how Act 2 is going to go down.

The gas masks you found are old and not that reliable. They work okay in short term uses, but they have a 25% chance of failure every hour if you use them long term.

Alexander is going to give you each a potion of water breathing to be consumed at the beginning of the mines. It has been found to be effective in providing air to its users in unbreathable air. It lasts 10 hours.

Note that Alexander gave you a stack of maps, but you guys will only find trouble in that section of the mines, which is why I only drew that map.

It will take about an hour of exploration to get to that section of the map, and an hour back, giving you guys a total of 8 hours of exploration and combat. (Yes, Act 2 lasts at maximum of 8 game hours)

We should be able to complete the Act in one session. It should be intense, but exciting.

Guys, I decided that actually running the owlbear fight is boring and a waste of time, so I'll just say you guys beat it in interest of saving time for the actual Act 2.

250 xp to each of you (this includes the story xp), which should bring you up to 1800xp total. You guys do not find any loot on any of the owlbear's victim, but you do receive 1000g from Dr. K an Dr. Trevil.

We will start the next session with the mine exploration.

Energons (Summoned by Summon Monster V) are incorporeal and deal 4 (touch) attacks at 3d6 each, 2d6 of which is energy, type depends on which one, there is a sonic one. When they die they deal 1d8+9 to all enemies in a 20 foot burst, ref half. They're very squishy other than their incorporealness, 35 HP 16 AC no DR.
