Umlaut literally had no place to go, and he didn't fullclaim, he partial claimed. Then, when the IC told him to claim, he unleashed insults at the IC.

No. He softed and was forced to claim for his play and then softing to get around his bad play. He's insulted the IC and the highly probable one shot doc and buddied hard core everyone who agrees with him. His play serves the purpose of survival. The best mathematical play is for Umlaut's slot to die. I'd TR him if he self-voted more, as he suggested he would do. He'd still have to die anyway, but I'd know I'd be lynching town to autosolve the game.
