I think there's a way to utilize the mechanics to town benefit. Just going with what seems instinctively "correct" right off the bat really isn't something that's appealing

the neighbourhoods can't even die, because of the neighbourizer function. it is highly doubtful claiming even matters considering you can just add whoever anyway and it makes it easier to express reads on people.

by "matters" i meant "matters negatively" because i'm assuming the negative implications are that scum can strategically kill because of the hoods

Sometimes a central discussion lets scum blend in by "discussing". They can just flow right in to the game by talking about the same thing we're talking about.

b) hood reads exist and if we don't massclaim hoods there will be hugely stretching town/scum cases on people and the game will be extremely confusing.

So your argument is reads are hard, neighborhoods make them harder?

If a hood read became important, i would expect it to be claimed.

The only reason right now to claim a hood, would be a town member slipping in their neighborhood and being worried that they slipped into a scum neighborhood (though i don't think that would matter all things told)

besides it's incredibly easy for scum to deduce who neighbours are
unless we go to lengths to hide hoods which is just silly

a) that's not what my argument is, it's that some townies will place too much importance on the hoods when they could be scum-infested. that is antitown

c) yes it's pretty easy for townies to know who neighbours are if they actually try to look at things, easier for scum though, and there is no reason to hard-oppose it

What did you find problematic about that?

On claiming: I'm slightly in favor just because it'll allow us to be more transparent about reads. However, it seems like there's a lot of pushback and if we're going to claim we would want to do it fully.

Theory talk is pretty easy for scum to fake so there's not much to form reads on here...
