There is the chance of both being lying scum but scum masons not a thing.

There's also a chance that Aronis was trying to claim Mason as a fake town slip but instead is a neighbour.
This is why I want Aronis to confirm if it says Mason so he can't back track on it.

The fact that Aronis knew Rauth the other person suggests that Aronis is scum, regardless to if Rauth is.

People arguing against Aronis lynch are doing it for the wrong reasons. Just take a step away from if Mason is town or not, and take a step towards Aronis knowing Rauths role.

Rauth claimed Town Linked. He doesn't know exactly what "Linked" means. It could be masons; it could be neighbors; it could be some sort of lovers. And he doesn't know who he is linked to.

Aronis claimed mason. Something that he couldn't know on the dark side. His claim is obviously a scum claim. Enough of it appears true (Rauth did claim linked) that it looks like Aronis didn't make it up out of thin air. But it is way too specific for a dark side claim. It has to be a claim from scum. Titus asks, Why did he claim? I think he just forgot that he was on the dark side and couldn't know all these things. He just got ahead of himself. Who knows?

I was just going to wait until after I got to the light side in order to find out exactly what my role is before softing. There were some things I said that could be taken as softing though, now that I look at my ISO. Specifically my 'No softs' post and then eventual backing off of Aronis could have been taken by Aronis as responding to a soft he did before that point (If he did soft before that point, I haven't checked myself.) Why claim Masons though?

Claiming mason is what he does because he's town and wants to live to see what it is. There truly isn't any benefit of killing him, well at least today.

If he's a lover/neighbor, then he's expendable again.

reasons do you have to think he's town?

1. Aronis claimed Masons with Rauth.

2. Rauth claimed that he is "town-linked," but said he didn't know who he was linked with.

3. Rauth further states that he never made any willful posts to softclaim his town-linked status.

4. Therefore, since Aronis claimed to know who his linked partner was, he must be scum, because otherwise he wouldn't know who he's linked to.

The only debate right now is over the "Mason" part of the claim, because that should confirm him as town. Some would like to wait for Rauth to reach the Light and confirm things.

I'm personally torn on that, because it does seem worth waiting to be cautious. But by the same token, scum control the switch, so they have the ability to functionally never allow Rauth into the Light, meaning we won't actually ever get to that point.

Granted, if sides become unbalanced, we're allowed to vote to balance the sides, but scum can counter that option by just leaving it sides relatively balanced. That might be strategically advantageous, but I could also see it not being, so I'm really unsure which course of action is the best.
