I mean
1) while I'm assuming sapo and the nerd didn't ask for the location, the whole "don't give the address out" thing was listed twice in the e-mail and again in the first post
2) has it occurred to anyone how awkward it might be for everyone (except Iece) to have someone who everyone only knows as Iece's fucktoy around? On a social level it seems like it defeats the purpose.
3) posts like those kind of color the entire event. Like, oh... it's THAT kind of meet. Woulda liked to have known that before signing up.

I don't know any of the people in question so this isn't anything personal, but this is the sort of thing I'd expect to hear from some of my more awful college roommates.

As it stands, I'm not an organizer and I'll take full responsibility for how I personally enjoy this experience, so the show can go on however.

Local people have shown up at basically ("literally"?) every meet I've been to, so I wasn't expecting anything other than "more warm bodies who want to play board games sounds fun to me, hooray."

Sapo obviously knows about the meet and has posted in this thread before -- she visited me in SF this past weekend and the meet came up, so I encouraged her to come, dunno whether she has call though. I obviously didn't give anyone an address.

"Only my fucktoy" (with whom I incidentally have never had sex) asked if he could see me again this weekend, so I told him I'd be at a party in the East Bay with internet friends where we'd play board games and such. I said I would get a feel for the vibe but expected he could probably come in for the day when he was off if he was interested.

Okay, so here are my basic thoughts on this. This is not your place. This is not my place. This is however my name and my credit card reserving this place so I do not want any surprises or headaches or anything drama like that.

1) If people are bringing an SO for the day, I have no problem with it. However no one has given me a "+1" for overnight staying, so no one should have a SO staying. Remember we have a hard overnight capacity.
2) I would like at least have a list of people who are showing up so I know about how many to expect. No one should be saying "I am just going to stay overnight" as again, capacity issues.
3) As has been stated by others, this is not a "hook up" type thing. If you are meeting someone from the first time off of grinder, tinder or FamersOnly... this is not the place for it.

Basically....

If Iec wants to have someone who they have been going out with for a short period of time swing by during the day and play some board games and then leave at night, that is okay. If you are having someone you know that little stay over or for lack of a better term "do more than play games"... then I have a major problem with it because it can start infringing into enjoyment of people who are not there for that type of situation. This place sleeps 10, but its not a ten bedroom place.

Got notified that due to house cleaner we aren't able to check in until 430. If you need to be picked up earlier from that from somewhere let me know. Otherwise I won't be in the area until closer to 3.

I'll be at SFO at about 3:15 on the 14th. I don't know if anyway else will be there at around that time, but I'd be happy to travel together, etc.

Also I'd like to coordinate a tad more with Iecerint and Implosion for board games. there's a lot between us it seems and it's easier if we don't bring 2 copies of the same game. Since small games are easy to pack this really only applies to things like Betrayal (I don't have the expansion fyi), shadow hunters, and 7 wonders

When I get home today I can start to actually pack them. I can also provide a list of all the games I own. I'll probably bring everything with a small box but I agree coordination will be good. I don't own betrayal or shadow hunters or 7 wonders fwiw. The only one I know I'm bringing 100% is ra based on earlier discussion.

I have SH, BHHx2, Pandemic, SGS, Cosmic Encounters (no exp q_q).

I don't have 7 wonders.
