Thinking on this, I think I get the fuzzylogic mindset. (Actions either help town or scum. Fire's not helping town. Therefore he's helping scum.)
It's not great but I'm back to thinking there's a good chance it's a town brand of derp.

it was policy lynch based on the concern that Fire might implode later in the game which could hurt the town. When he did what he did he was not necessarily a threat to town however later on he could be, He seemed a chaotic element in the game
It seems that it would be best to get rid that possibility early on before it could hurt the town. At best my vote would kick Fire in the butt and cause him to play less chaotic at worse we would get rid of a player that could hurt the town later on.
I took a gamble.

BTW if Fire is vengeful there always a chance scum has a RB that could neutralize him. I tried a gambit once to get myself night killed as a vengeful but was RB . There is that possibility here assuming he really is a vengeful. I don't understand his motivation for his action neither has he done or said anything to make me to understand why he did what he did. . Nor is there a reason to believe that he vengeful
