Why do you think having Varsoon as a conftown outweighs the damage of losing him so early, possibly even N1?

Varsoon is a strong player and will have a short shelf life anyway, so I'd rather he be a true blue towny that we can trust! He's also a far better flip than a null, especially early game. Flipping a null can lead to apathy from them if town. Iirc it plagued West9 in the first game of this series.
Varsoon isn't the type of player to stop playing because he's conftown, making it an even better choice!

We could, but I don't see the point? This game is very much based on dayplay because of the colouring effect scum have. So I want strong town confirmed so they can give us strong, reliable reads! If we go for a scummy slot and they flip town, they end up being of no help to us down the road.

I would advise against lynching outside of a red result (holding on to 'known' scum) unless someone for sure can roleblock them.
In previous games, the scum team had some useful roles.

I meant that as in if the secondary scumread flips town, lynch the main scumread.

Twoface just seems like he's not really willing to engage with people atm. I know only Phase 1 of D1, but he just isn't making ripples like usual. I believe he mentioned trying to be a new and improved TwoFace in the signups, so I'm hoping that's all it is, but I still think it is odd.

Bomberman is an alright flip had it gone through. I don't actually townread the slot. They made a call for people to vote for them, but resused to do so themselves. They also played off the reason for the call as if it didn't really matter. This tells me it may have been an empty call to flip them in order to gain townpoints because they're "not afraid to be flipped" despite never having the intention of being flipped. I think I talked in circles here, but basically it rang as untrue to me, so I'm gonna be watching that slot.

No. It's that Frog was pushing me day 1. Frog was more obvtown than Infinity imo, and it's a good bet that with an alive Frog I'd be colourflipped at some point. This lines up.

Or you knew killing him would make you too obvious and that leaving him alive would make a flip on you more likely, so rather than flip red you painted yourself purple.

It's not an open/shut case.

Why would Scum start the wagon on the person they painted? That seems like far too obvious a move and I doubt it would happen, especially D2 when, I assume, they only have had one paint shot.

Most likely Scum is in Fro99er, Max, Bomber. That's the Scum sweet spot for wagons and is almost always correct from my experience. I townread Fro99er heavily, leaving Bomber and Max.
I don't think Max would be calling you out so nonchalantly for the budding efforts from you as scum. He's just take the free townread and enjoy it. Its possible he is doing it for townpoints but I don't think it reads that way. Fro993ler could be Scum for jumping on after denying the wagon when I suggested it, but meh.

Okay, I'm halfway through a Havo Iso and they are so clearly a scum buddy with Aptil I almost don;t believe it!

Ther avoided talking about them until post eight-hundred and something, avoided voting them, have strained interactions when they do talk, defended the vig claim by saying a scum no kill to fram Aptil was likely(???? WTF) and had them at null for this, quoted the TF flip when voting him as if they had to convince themselves bussing was a good idea even though everyone saw it, and ask questiong that don't forward the game like "who is Doggo" and Mechanics based questions. They even threw in a lot of busywork like making a small quotewall of my posts to refer to later if they needed, which they never did.

Yeah, Bomber reads as newbtown and I know he's played before but not for a few years so I think the "Newb" modifier is reasonable. They are genuine in looking at the game, have a good amount of fun without distracting from the actual game proceedings, and overall are actually trying to sort it.

These are two votes on scum. But which is a bus?

Bomber sits is the middle of the wagon. The safe zone. The spot where it is found that scum populate more times than not.
The theory that Scum NK'd to incriminate Aptil while also voting there shows they don't believe their case. Yet they vote Aptil. This makes no sense.

Varsoon looks too confident in his hammer post though. He looks like he knows he will get a red (read: scum) flip and reacts accordingly. The hammer could be out of a hope for towncred. The post looks like he knows Aptil was painted.

Now for devil's advocate.

Bomber was early enough on the wagon that it didn't make sense to be there as scum. Why push a buddy when there are far more viable targets alive still? Why call it an armtwist and make a crazy theory as scum? It would make far more sense to look at this logically rather than making some weird narrative like they did.

Varsoon looks at the thread with logic and confidence. He is hopefl that a scum flip will occur and thus takes the risk. Why would he hammer as scum? I mean, there's no way he could know I was going to come in and almost derail the wagon should he not vote, but he also could have delayed and hoped for movement in another direction. With shorter deadlines a NL was perfectly possible, and the towncred for hammering scum isn't much of a thing with current site meta. So why bother?

The first one is pretty clear, and I based a lot of my comments around it. Once fro99er was out of the way it was down to two people, and we're only in this scenario is because everytime I wanted to color flip varsoon or point suspicion at him, you all wanted to tell me he was obviously town and refer as to how TwoFace got lynched.

The way TwoFace got lynched is not telling, it's what happened after it. Why is that a poor man scumteam ignores a power player after their goon had been lost already? Infinity was and always has been a very strange kill, but a lot of people in current meta are too scared of taking risks and just write things off as NAI. It's bullshit. I may have claimed Varsoon was null that point in time, but I damn well didn't townread him, and it's because I didn't want to accept the fact fro99er and Varsoon had to be town and that the proclaimed townbloc fro99er had made was true. That was way more scummy in my eyes because it read like only coasting off credit due. Fast forward a bit, fro99er is gerrymandering votes and making loud and proud claims while I continue and let things transpire because apparently I lack the credibility to be taken seriously as a player. Maybe when I turn out to be 100% fucking right you'll all trust me next time.

If the lynch is not telling, then this doesn't matter anyway!
