*They're top predators
*Velociraptors were uncool to me because everyone else liked them via Jurassic Park
*I mean, come on, you get to run around hunched over looking ferocious! ...I mean, I probably looked dorky as hell, and I'm VERY glad no pictures survived, but seriously. Try it. Lean forward a bit, take springy pigeon-toed steps, hold your arms close with your wrists bent all the way forward, and look at the nearest predatable object slyly.

...this has nothing to do with how my mascot is now a bird, but etc.
