1. I personally see bad cases coming more from Town than scum.
2. No. Town is generally more careless. Scum can slip. Either one, but it's LUV, so probably the previous.

I tend to try to solve the game quickly as town because I hate the alignment and I rather have the game over ASAP.

Anything else I would say wouldn't be helpful because it's what all good scum players should do.
