Sources say not the only current team to have been declined.

I could've sworn I heard/read somewhere that implied flyquest couldn't meet the requirements. Or maybe I'm just projecting comment guesses into other's mouths and they just declined.

I'd be a little surprised if both Flyquest and P1 didn't get booted.
edit: on the subject of the new format though, I do feel like the addition of VC investors can only help TSM. Might shake up the clear organizational structure that has failed.

They did. Flyquest was said to be declined a while ago. P1 is rumored to be out. Rumors are that OpTiC and a team featuring Joe Lacob's money(confirmed in) are taking those spots.

As an OG CRS fan I would stop watching pro lol if TL were to not get a spot
Considering Liquid's strong Esports base I would be very surprised if they weren't able to meet the requirements. I'd imagine that any decline would be due to the org's recent slide into the deep end, especially after they lost Fenix.

Good news about this Knockout: Potential for a Korean teamkill in SSG vs. SKT or Longzhu.
Bad news: Since there are no "good" matchups, C9, MSF and FNC are gonna have to bow out in Quarters. Like, the absolute best team to be matched against would be WE for C9 and FNC because SKT, Longzhu and RNG are humongous beasts--RNG less so than the Koreans, but I still feel like they're just a step above WE.
I can't decide which I want guaranteed more: China vs. Korea semis, or China vs. Korea finals.

C9 can definitely beat WE and maybe even RNG. Less sure about Fnatic, but can probably beat WE if they show up on form.

This is either really good or really bad for C9, depending on if they can beat SKT or lose to AHQ.

This isn't final form SKT. Peanut is stylistically a joke for SKT. They want passive lanes.
Peanut will still be played in groups: SKT wants to give no information over of how Blank will perform on meta junglers, or whether Blank has Ivern ready. Where he paths and the enemy being prepared for it is one of the biggest concerns when Blank plays. Blank will come out after game 1 in a series against LZ/SSG/RNG. Teams that require respect.
