I would like to pop an everstone on chikorita and go into the nearest forest (let's face it there's always a forest at the start) to start training up my Chikorita. If for some weird reason these pokemon are actually reasonably powerful and not weak like they should be at the start we leave and ask for directions to a site where the pokemon are low-level, then train there instead.

Pokemon are lv 1 and given to trainers at the pokemon school in Alola. At the school, the trainers learn about pokemon alongside their starter.
