My name is Ichiko Ohya, and I am aligned with (but not a part of) the Phantom Thieves.

I will pretend not to be Ichiko Ohya outside of these cryer messages. This means that I:
-Won't carry over typing style between main thread and cryer messages
-Won't carry over formatting style between main thread and cryer messages (and will acknowledge that this spoiler format has been used before)

-Will not change between I/we pronouns in the case of a hydra

My goal here is not to trick the town, but rather to adapt so that the town does not have to attempt to hide me but can instead act natural.

I am able to post anonymous messages at the start of every game day.
I am also able to flavour track somebody each night, but there is a catch: I flavour track my

target's target

as opposed to the person I target.
Additionally, contrary to expectations my role is not able to catch mafia on it's own. Explained later.

I intend to use my cryer ability to

reveal the role I uncovered

(but not who they belong to, which I do not have knowledge of without knowing who my target targetted)

Then, the way I see it, there are two different ways to use my flavour track, and both are worth considering:

Option 1 - I target

town's general consensus

, players vote (using the

fos

vote system if they prefer) on a player for me to target. This helps make sure that I am always on high priority targets (and ideally somebody who visits), but opens up the possibility of my target being roleblocked, and in extension me receiving no result.

Option 2 - I target whoever I want. This means that I also indicate who I targetted in my crier report, and more importantly means I can effectively

track the mafia kill

. If I receive the same flavour as a

player who died

I will know that my target targetted them and that they died.

Spoiler: Fakeclaims

There's been a lot of speculation on the weight of mafia fake claims, including whether a fake claim could be a phantom thief. Hopefully, my own role will shed some light on this situation.

If my returned result is on someone aligned with the

Conspiracy

, I instead receive their fakeclaim.

Fakeclaims hold significant sway in this game. It would be wise not to think of them as something mafia claims, but rather as what they're

pretending to be, in character.

I think it is possible for a phantom thief to be a fakeclaim, and for it to reveal the identity of Akira to the Conspiracy.

However from what I have seen Purple Nurple saying it helped them rather than a group of people makes me suspicious they are 3P Traitor or Group Scum. As town mastina has a more groupy mindset. Between that and mastina doing horrible setup spec which she doesn't do as Town makes her obvScum.
