Spoiler: For those not knowing what hypo-cop is

On day 2 and onwards (until the vanilla cop role is claimed or killed), every player posts a result as if they were the vanilla cop; the actual vanilla cop tells the truth and everyone else makes up a result. It does possibly give scum more info on who isn't the vanilla cop (if someone claims an incorrect result on one of them, for example), but it guarantees that we have all of the investigations as public knowledge while allowing them not to claim and draw a NK.

I've tried to figure this out but I'm getting nowhere. Is there something about vanilla cops in general that makes it a good idea to do this? I've never seen this done or even suggested before, so can you link to some games where it was used successfully? As well, it seems like a strange thing to bring up in your opening post, and only the fourth player post of the game. Can't we wait and see what happens n1 before deciding?

I didn't like that you discredited acid with nothing really and say that it's ironic that she asks you to provide reads...while you provide reads. It didn't feel organic, like how town usually sees something to make them click and they provide a read. Here you provided a read on someone who half-heartedly pushed you to do so, whilst labelling them scum based on their ISO, which is a stretch at best. Then you null read necro who's provided more content but is also pretty trolly. Why provide reads on the two trolls/easy lynches when one of them tickles you?

It's ironic because he asked me to provide reads when he hadn't done any himself. It's early d1 and there isn't much to go on, yet we must attempt reads if we are to get anywhere and give people a picture of where we're at. Acid first because he was the one who asked me for reads. Necro because i wanted to lift my vote as it is probably a waste of time trying to sort it right now. Note that i didn't make a big deal put of acid's ISO - just a scum lean, no vote. And necro i lifted the vote and moved to null. I don't see anything 'forced' about any of that.

I think I've found my new favourite scum candidate. He votes Zulfy because he asked necro for reasons for his reads. I do have resistance to a necro wagon, because I think he's probably town, but you could have said this about anyone and I would have called you out on it.

But i do think we need to reassure ourselves about necro's weird playstyle at some point, and it might as well be now. We've got a claim from UnaH so if people disbelieve that they can lynch him. I'm personally undecided but have no great objection if time runs short.

This latest post also hits some of my favorite marks for a scumread getting "confirmed" further. I'll try to list a few:

Decides to do it by saying "others have said he is good" and "only picks one post even though there has been many". Neither is actually an objectively good argument. 3) Two players who apparently ping them as scummy, but they don't want to commit to a read fully. This is to appear as trying to solve and sort in the same post where they discredit me, because "it would be scummy to just defend themselves".

I'm starting to come around on vanders possibly being town but I'm unsure, it won't be obvious until you see who scumread who day 1 after the flip. Necro being nice is weirding me out.

4) Mentions Vanders as a townlean, because others are yet to sort them. This might help pocket Vanders and gain towncred for calling them town before acid and Rhah get there. Mentions Necro, but not making any huge commitments there either..

I'm working very hard to get over my scumread on you.
But I still have a feeling you want me lynched on a very forced manner, which feels scummy to me.
I know I suffer greatly from conf.bias, because you seem to be somewhat townread, while I find something scummy in almost any post. Maybe you have a similar challenge, I don't know.

Another problem is that I can't see any other reasonable scum-candidates for today.

It reminded me of Open 698, which UnaH and me finished recently. UnaH was town and looking like he could get lynched both d1 and d2. I want to read over what UnaH had to say there, and how he said it. Anyone else can do that too, if they choose.

Okay, so in that other game (town) UnaH also did a fair bit of AtE, but a lot more self-meta, in particular saying he wasn't good at reading tone and was trying a new playstyle where he prodded players for reactions more. Not getting much out of that, but what did strike me is he gave a detailed read list in case he was lynched, encouraged another player to give a rl in case they were nked and examined other players' readlists in detail. Generally got into a lot more detail a nd pushed more on players.

This kind of thing is always subjective but i don't think i am biased one way or another here. There's probably enough difference to go to L-1 again.
