Spend less time worrying about what people think of you and focus more on just lynching your reads. Give reasons for them and always try your hardest. Be transparent in your reads and don’t lurk or do intentionally scummy things like lie or gambit

there are strats (for Matrix6 ONLY) that involve doing this.
At the start of the game, everyone claims bulletproof or not bulletproof.
If everyone claims not bulletproof then we do the same thing except with Tracker or Not Tracker.
If one person claims bulletproof, then you don't proceed with tracker claims because that's dumb.
If one person claims Tracker, then the doc sits on them and the game becomes really unfun.
If there are CCs we have our 1v1 for the day.

This is not a critic on your choice to not do it. Sorry if it came out that way.
Doing the strat is optimal for town but is bad for the reasons you pointed. Not doing the strat makes what happened in this game posible. I think the set up is bad for newbies and the choice is not great either way.
